It's Yeli Time!

Loved the moment in the dugout after his home run, most of his teammates pretended to ignore him as him walked down the dugout for the normal high fives and hugs!

Just like Giannis and the Bucks, Yeli and the Brewers are playing loose and having fun. Great time to be a Bucks and Brewers fan!

What more can he do?

Wow... He certainly answered that question yesterday, plus, awarded a puppy to a young family.

It's gonna be tough to watch that guy's contract mature. He doesn't seem like one of the ego-maniacal pro athletes. It is really easy to root for that frrekin' guy.

Well we can thank the Marlins for Yelich. First, they signed him to a 7 year/$49,570,000 contract that runs out at the end of 2022. Then, the Marlins dealt Yeli to the Brewers in January of 2018 for 4 prospects, none of which have really done anything yet in the Majors. One of them, CF Lewis Brinson seems to be the only one to play and his career batting average is .191

For those that don't follow a lot of baseball, to see just what a bargain Yelich is, Mike Trout just signed a 12 year deal with the Angels for $426.5M.

I didn't get a chance to watch the game last night, but the highlights sure are fun!

"Get up, get out of here......gone!" Gotta love Bob Uecker and the fact he is still doing this at 85!

Ok, this was funny! Someone temporarily changed Yeli's Wiki page after he hit his 3 homeruns last night! :roflmao: Fitting, in 5 games against the Cardinals, he has 7 HRS.

He does like St Louis the past two seasons
Here is the damage Yelich has done so far this season against the Cardinals: six games, 28 plate appearances, 11-for-21 (.524), one double, eight home runs (at least one in each game), 18 RBIs, 10 runs scored, and seven walks (two intentional). That’s good for a .643 on-base percentage and a 1.714 slugging percentage. Yelich, as long as he stays healthy, will have 13 more matchups with his NL Central foe this season.

He and this team are so much fun to watch. Kind of how it was with Harvey’s Wallbangers and Bambi’s Bombers.

In 3 years the going rate for Yelich if he continues as he is will be around $40M per year. Enjoy him now.

Oh come on, every Brewer fan knows for a fact that Yeli will resign for a Home Team discount! Heck, he might even pay the Brewers for the privilege of being able to play for them! :whistling:

Ditto for Giannis and the Bucks.

I'm going to edit my statement and say Yelich will be inline for about $50M per year. The highest salary now is already approaching $40M.

His next contract will set him and all of his great great grandchildren for a life of luxury. Cant fault a man for maximizing his income.

I'm not going to pretend to understand the MLB Baseball Cap, Luxury Tax, etc. But currently Yeli is being paid $9.75 M which appears to be about 7.81% of the Payroll. At $50 M he would be taking up close to 35% of the total payroll.....hard to field a winning team with that.

I was a bit surprised to see that the Brewers have the 17th highest payroll in the Majors and only $10,000 less than the league average.
