My source's source with close ties to inside sources told me we're trading Aaron Rodgers to the Vikings for Brett Favre and their entire practice squad. It's reliable, I promise!

You're getting hot. I do have 2 sources who know what is going on in the Packers organization. I am allowed to ONLY offor up the info. that has been OK'd by the source. There is a lot of stuff going on that I would like to reveal but can't. I know people want proof or supply a link to these rumors. I'm getting this from person to person contact. If I revealed all the info. that this source has provided, guess what-I would no longer have a source and my source would no longer have a job. 9 times out of 10 these rumors don't ever go down, but 10 times out of 10 they have validity. Things happen with teams getting gready at the last minute trying to hold another team hostage by trying to get a 1st rounder out of a team when they thought it could get down for a 2nd and 4th. I'm being accuse of making things up and if these trades don't go down I'm sure to take some hits around here. While I can't reveal who my source is I can tell you that he or she is also a source at another site.(people tend to like to chatter there (hint) I'll also tell you that sources as well as the organization do WANT to get the information leaked out there but ONLY so much. There is soo much more to these trade talks that I can't reveal. For me it's exciting being a Packer fan with some inside information but at the same time you can become unpopular very quickly posting on websites about the info you are allowed to reveal and then nothing materializes or there is a last minute change to the particulars of the trade be it players or draft picks.

Here's an idea- Why not wait until you know it's a little more concrete than being just merely a rumor before posting? Sure, people will bash you at first, but if you hit on some of these things, you'll gain quite a bit of credibility in a hurry.

Seems like it would make more sense to be a little more patient with the release of information and get it right than to just throw it out there hoping something will stick.

Saw the same rumors at PackerChatters..appreciate anything that any insider hears. I also appreciate that just because it's on the internet, doesn't mean it's true. I don't hold it against anyone if their "rumor" doesn't happen. Things change. Again I appreciate you sharing.

Would be nice if a link or at least your source..You could be blasted since your sort of new (posting wise)

Very specific trade details though

Totally agree!!! I wont believe ANY of these rumors until they happen.
IF, and thats a big IF, I see Marshawn Lynch in a Packers uniform, I will be a very happy man. But until then it's all BS.

:scenic:

I love the post. Sure it may not fall through, but doesn't mean they're not talking about it. Any inside information is fun to read, and that's why I come to this board, for the enjoyment of reading about my Pack in between Holy Sunday.

I'm also a closet Bills fan because I live in the Buffalo area. I give this post credit because it benefits both teams. The bills desperately need new weapons. O-linemen, Tight Ends, Linebackers... they in the ****. We can offer them our 3rd best Tight End and some draft picks/Jones? They'd be happy campers. + they have such a log jam at Running back they can't wait to trade Lynch, especially with his reputation in the city.

Thanks Packerbob for your post, I enjoyed it, and hope it comes true!

I think this is what makes the rumors exciting and fun... it makes sense. Both teams can help each other in so many ways. I'm really excited to see if anything transpires.

Actually he did, but KC jacked up the price at the eleventh hour. Otherwise we had a deal done.

Right, so he didnt pull the trigger. I think at the initial deal was a great deal for us but as the price went up it wasnt.

Packers Insider - Packer Fan Headquarters

-there's no way brad jones gets traded.
-buffalo is willing to part with marshawn, but naturally they want the most they can get for him. not everybody is like al davis.
-what's interesting to me, minor though, is that the new dude dimitri nance, is not a russian. i thought all dimitri's were russian. just kidding, but it's interesting that he's now #23, which happens to be marshawn's number.

-also, did you know, marshawn lynch and desmond bishop played together at cal, and at the same time, both wore #10 there?

ahhh. One of the Packerchatter insiders is the source. You are better off getting your info from my sister in Tulsa.

There are no insiders there. The main one states that his source works for a different NFL team. I doubt the Packer brass shares their inside info with a scout from another teams. So, what you want to call a 'rumor', I would call speculation. But, whatever you want to believe. The track record of this source is 'near' zero. Its real easy to every season list 50 FAs who the Packers are 'interested in' and hopefully hit a few. One year the list was even longer. Two that were not on it? Woodson and Pickett, the only two we got.

In reality, I do have an inside 'source' with the Packers. Somebody close that I communicate with more than monthly. You know how much info I get? NOTHING. I wouldn't even ask because I know, and he knows, that he would loose his job if he discussed any of the inside dealings of the Packers. Think about it. If you worked for the Packers, in a decision making role, would you put that at risk by telling somebody who posts on a bulletin board?

By the way, I shouldn't say nothing. I do get some things but only a couple of years after the fact, and then its only minor stuff. But I can dispel many of the 'rumors' I have seen on that site.

Yeah... he's too big to be a 3-4 OLB and not big enough to be a 3-4 DE. At most, he'd be a 4-man nickel and dime pass rush specialist. Not sure why we'd want that. I'd rather keep Hawk who has experience and gives us depth in the linebacker core.

Hawk, D. Lee, and a 4th that escalates into a 3rd if we make playoffs that escalates into a 2nd if we make Super Bowl for Lynch and a 7th that escalates into a 6th if they make playoffs.

Still' I want to see B-Jax and even Nance for the next 3 weeks before we rush into a decision.

I agree that people that don't like the rumors shouldn't read it.

BUT WHEN YOU BASH THE ADMINISTRATION BECAUSE THEY'RE NOT MATERIALIZING THAT RUMOR, you need to be called out and put on your place.

(you as in one that does it, just to make clear)

EXACTLY.. people need to understand that not everything said actually falls through.. this is the real world and nothing happens the way its suppose to.. a rumor is just that and read it with a grain of salt.

Folks, I really hate to rain on parades. But we're talking about Ted Thompson here. His modus operandi doesn't fit with any of these scenarios. Personally, I think he's content to go with Brandon Jackson and I think Jackson is going to do just fine. This is an offense that throws the pass to set up the run, not vice versa. I think we should still be more concerned about the Packer secondary than their running back. We have a perfectly good couple of running backs and a thin secondary.

But why call it a rumor when it is made up? Why not present it in a speculative discussion? This insider has been proven wrong as well as proven to be flat out lying so often, its extremely frustrating that anyone take his 'rumors' as having some basis. Eventually he is bound to hit one and it will be a blind squirrel and the nut thing.

There are already a few posts here critical of TT for not following thru with these moves. That just isn't right.

Thing is, I honestly think those rumors have some basis. How concrete are those basis, it's to be seen. But when someone says that someone from inside the organization told them they are looking for that trade, I believe it's true.

Fact is GMs are calling other GMs inquiring for trades EVERY SINGLE DAY. TT does it, believe it or not. He scouts every FA available. But, most of the time, things don't work out. TT's MO is to be as conservative as possible. IF things fall into place (Woodson, Pickett, Chillar), he strikes the deal. But he'll never go all out.

I guess I'll just sit on any future information I get from my source who I trust as being reliable. He's thrown me a few crumbs in the past and many have come to fruition. Some haven't happened but that doesn't mean talks weren't being made but that it only fell apart in the 11th hour. It's not worth it to me to get ridiculed and be called a lier by some posters. I won't bother anybody with my sources information in the future. Sorry to upset so many people.

Last I checked McCarthy loves Jackson and said he is an every down back. I think everyone should sit back and see what happens, when was the last time GB actually traded for someone in a major deal. Plus, if STL wants to dump Long so easily there is a problem with him and Lynch's character hinders his true ability.

Jackson will rush for 975 yards, 5 TD's, and have 235 recieving yards and 3 TD's IMHO, or something like that...

EDIT: Watch Kuhn pick up 400 yards this year and gert 12 TD's and tons of goal-line work.
