Message: <blockquote data-quote="Pokerbrat2000" data-source="post: 1077951" data-attributes="member: 7261">So basically, we play to the level of our opponent?I will agree with you on this and to me it is a problem.  One that I mostly put on the coaching staff and it was also an issue with some of the Mike McCarthy teams.  Why do I say that it is mostly on the coaching staff?  I think it is their job to approach every game the same.  It really shouldn't matter what the record of the next team that they are facing is.  They should do a thorough job with breaking down opponents strengths and weaknesses and prepare a game plan accordingly.Coaches need to prepare their players both mentally and physically.  The better teams don't have a problem doing this.  If they do, it seems like they go in at half time, make the necessary adjustments and come back out for the 2nd half and get the job done.  I don't watch a ton of other teams, but a college team where I see this all the time, is the Ohio State Buckeyes.  My brother is a big fan of the Buckeyes, so I keep a casual eye on them.  I can't tell you how many times they will be in a game that appears to be close at half time, and then they just come out in the 2nd half and dominate.Some day soon, I hope MLF and his coaching staff can be dominant when they should be and when they do face better teams, grind out the wins.</blockquote>
