this is your link

They have ways around it, vaseline or things like that on bare skin so the wind and cold dont effect it..

If there was EVER an issue, everyone would always wear some sort of sleeve

I have lived in Wisconsin my whole life. I ice fish, ski, and of course shovel my driveway all winter long. In weather like is forecasted, I know skin can freeze within minutes. I am not a football player, but doesn't this seem fairly dangerous. Thoughts?
I think it's fairly STUPID! They are trying to show how "tough" they are.........i just think it's dumb! Even for our guys.......if wearing sleeves on a below zero day means your a wimp, then dang, I'm a WIMP!

Most of the Packers will not wear sleeves on Sunday either. Receivers and backs do so to prevent fumbling supposedly. The only reason for the others to do it is to prove how tough they are.

None of the O-line are wearing them either. Clifton said it was a no-no in GB.

There are parts of California, yes, California, that are colder than where most of the Finnish live in Finland.

I was caught in a blizzard once at -5 and 70 mph winds. NOT fun. This was the same area where the Donners ate the dead to survive.

And yes, I've been in colder than that, but not stuck outside.

Don't get me wrong. Finland is cold. But Green Bay is colder.
If someone has time, they can check the average monthly temperatures of Helsinki and compare it to Green Bay. I'm pretty sure Green Bay is considerably colder.

I'm not going to wear sleeves sunday, in fact I probably won't be wearing anything at all.

Picture that when you're talking to me in the gameday chat(tromadz lounge).

I don't acutally think Green Bay is colder... This has just been a really hot year for us (we didn't even have snow on Christmas for god's sake). But I remember years there were many days that went below -40 celsius. And that wasn't even too cold for us.

I heard Strahan (sp?) say in an interview he'll be wearing sleeves because he isn't trying to impress anyone. I must say, I agree with him. Screw it. Show how tough you are with your play and lay some people out like Bigby will be doing on Sunday =)

Hey guys, I'm not a GIANTS fan, but I am a New Yorker. And I can probably explain this.

When I first came to the mid-west (Great Lakes Naval Base), it was January. And I was walking around the base in just a sweater. While EVERYONE ELSE was wearing Parkers.
They were all like "are you out of your freakin mind!????"
"It's FREEZING out here!"

But, here's the thing.....in New York, it's very DAMP, because of the ocean.
So you're always wet. When it's freezing outside, and you're wet....it's 1,000 times worse then when you're dry.
I grew up in New York. And I was ALWAYS use to that BS New York Freezing Wet (damp) winters. So dam cold that it would just rattle your bones. And that's no exaggeration.
You just can't layer enough to keep out that dampness.
Now, I know you have the Great Lakes...but, it's just not the same thing. I don't know why.

When I moved out here, sure it was cold....but it was DRY. So, it didn't feel quite as bad, as it did to those that were born here and "used to it".
What I was "used to" was far worse.
Now that I've been here for over 20 years though, it effects me the same way that it effects anyone from here.
But, trust me.....it won't effect those boys from the East Coast the same way.
They will probably find it like I did.

That's why they are opting to not wear sleeves.

....I really don't think it's just to look "tough". Would you actually risk a game that BIG...just to "look" tough?

However, my experience was at temperatures that were around 15 - 20 + degrees.
.....not -25 below.

If they ain't wearing sleeves, it wont take too long for them to feel that! LOL!!!

Should be interesting.

Agreed. I think that if I am warm with sleeves and you are cold without them, I have a better chance to perform.
