The problem there is you presume that isn't happening with MLF. They have radios from the HC to the booth. He's got his playsheet, he's got his guys upstairs. It's probably more similar than you realize. The comms have to happen at minimum to make sure substitutions are happening properly.
Bottom line for me is the sight test. Watch the Packers huddle up. Players have gotten slow to the huddle. My assumption on that is habit. They know Love is waiting for the play to come in. Then watch when the huddles break. While this is all going on, watch the play clock. Now do the same for our opponents offense.

So wherever the issue(s) exist it is MLF's job to fix it, but first he has to recognize that it actually is a problem. IMO, it's a big problem.

If Willis was trotted out as the QB the Eagles would have thought play fake or a bootleg. May have forced them to use a TO.
Yup and after Sundays game and Love getting nicked up running the ball, my guess is MLF is going to be telling him to try and curtail the QB keepers. This may just be me, but if I'm a DC, I'm not worried about Love hurting my defense with his legs. Willis? Now he would concern me.

I loved seeing Love run for a few 1st downs, but he needs to realize that he's NOT Mahomes or Allen at 240+lbs. He needs to get to the sideline and/or slide and not take a direct hit from a Safety or LB. Appreciate him trying to get every yard possible, but at 220lbs can't take too many shots.

I think he tends to slide too early. Seems like an offbeat thing they could practice. To know exactly where the refs are going to spot the ball.

How long have I been saying that the plays take too long coming in and it makes it extremely difficult for Love to make any changes when they reach the line of scrimmage? He should have a few options as to what to run when they get there if the chosen play is going to be blown up. It was obvious when the defense was calling out the play the Packers were going to run and the play clock was against Love, without enough time to even change the play.

This seems like conflated issues. They rushed to the line and didn't huddle. There was time to change the play.

The smarter plan would have been to call a timeout and sort out the mess. OR not rush, huddle, and give Love at least 2 plays to come to the line with.

Yeah, that's the kicker to me. According to Jacobs, there just wasn't any alternate given, they were only sent with one play and that's that. Of course Love could have presumably still taken a timeout if he didn't like the look; he more or less acknowledged that the Eagles knew what was coming but claimed he thought they'd be able to get it done still.

I guess the big question that still remains is over exactly how much freedom/latitude Love is being given in these situations. Hard to say what he has been taught/instructed/encouraged or "empowered" to be able to do in that moment...

Probably for just a few seconds shorter then I have been saying it. :whistling: :roflmao:

If you go back to the Aaron Rodgers and MLF days, it was an issue then as well. Rodgers used to get frustrated by it. Probably why he liked to play more no huddle, so he could call the plays himself. It is more noticeable with Love for a few reasons. He doesn't seem to get guys to huddle up as fast, probably because he knows the play won't come in that fast. Also, Aaron was a smart and cool cucumber. He knew how to get to the LOS and quickly look over the defense and audible out if needed.

It was obvious when the defense was calling out the play the Packers were going to run and the play clock was against Love, without enough time to even change the play.

The play clock wasn't an issue at all on the 4th and 1 against the Eagles. There was actually 26 seconds left on it. The plain truth, it was a terrible play call.

My guess, Love has very little leeway in changing plays, especially in those situations. I have said it before, but MLF and Rodgers used to tangle over Rodgers audibling out of MLF's play calls. I can almost guarantee you that as soon as Love was the starter, MLF made it a top priority for Jordan to know, "run the play that I call, unless you see a real big opportunity present itself due to the defensive alignment."
