Both Whyle & Fitzpatrick are 6'-7" tall. Fitzpatrick is heavier at 262lbs+ vs 248lbs for Whyle. Whyle's probably a touch faster with a 4.69 40. Let both block & occasionally leak out as a check down option, and play both near the goal line & throw it up high. Musgrave didn't seize his opportunities, time to move on.

Agree. Although, I do think Musgrave will still see some snaps, his career in GB is definitely on life support. It's imperative for him to use whatever opportunities he may get, to prove he can play in the NFL.

I’m not exaggerating when I say Luke Musgrave might be the worst Packer tight end I’ve ever seen.
He was starting over Kraft until he got hurt his rookie year. Has he not healed properly or what? I expected a lot more from him with Kraft out too.

Over the next couple of games the Packers are going to need to see Musgrave step up and be the TE that they saw as potential. If that doesn't happen, I think it's going to be pretty much the end of the road for him as a potential #1 TE.

The talent is there, but I wonder about how much strength he still has, and how much of a toll his being idle has had on his legs. It's a tough position to play when healthy and at full strength but in a weakened condition you're a target for being steamrolled by everyone out there.

I 100% understood the standing on not trading as I would have understood if some team gave up solid return. I love Malik - right now I love that he is a Packer for sure!
I really believe we’re missing out on using Willis more in specific packages. Similar to how Sean Payton used his QB Taysom Hill. Malik is a very talented and athletic QB and personally I think we’re missing an occasional opportunity to use his skill set.

You might be on to something but my gut feeling is this isn't a move that MLF would make. I think it might work and would add another wrinkle for opponents to have to worry about but I don't see him utilizing Willis in this manner.

He is quick, faster than love and he does have a good accurate arm so I see him as a perfect fit for RPOs. The only down side would be the constant worry of him getting hurt. He is capable of running the team well but at this point in the season do we want to take that chance.
A good idea, but I think we have to stand pat for now and concentrate on knocking off all our division rivals and save our backup if Love gets injured.

"Throwing to Musgrave in the flat is a low percentage play because he's an awkward athlete with shockingly little body coordination and contact balance."

THIS- According to Packer Wire today.

Not saying you're wrong, but every time this idea comes up, I always worry that doing that would give the defense a better idea of what we're about to do.

A good point. He does have better wheels and if the Packers decide to use the tush push he'd be the best candidate. Moreover, he's excellent at rolling out to make throws.

I post here a lot and you guys know I love all y'all.
But......
Did you really think I wasn't gonna gloat a little bit?
Just hoping that the NFC North can right itself over the next 7 weeks. Vikes on the bottom is proper, but the rest is whacked. ;)

Just saw this week's schedule... da Bears play their owner!! No way AR doesn't play Sunday.

So wtf does he not use him more!!!!?
1. If you use him more, the risk of injury goes up. Most of his value is as a backup.

2. Love is the better QB. Why take th ball out of the better player’s hands?

3. In a non-backup situation, you’re telling the defense to key on him.

4. Subbing him in likely means taking Love out entirely due to limits on radio helmeted players.

Enough or should I keep going?

I agree I think we’re missing a nice opportunity to utilize Malik in certain situations.

Injury concerns wouldn’t prevent or preclude usage of a player like Malik for a designated play. Such as a 4th and <2 to go between the 45-45 with a 1+ TD lead, particularly in postseason where nobody expects it. Then the next time you use it have him fake roll out and hand off to Savion for a pass play rolling opposite of any film they have on Malik. Mix it up a little already. I think it could juke someone out of their strap if sequenced properly going various directions in postseason.

Any player risks injury so not using players because they might get injured is playing really scared imo. Why is Jordan out there? Nobody is suggesting using him a FT running back.

It could interrupt Love's rhythm.
Now I respect your opinions but that right there is just the strangest thing I’ve heard you say. lol

I’m beginning to think this O is starting to rub off on fans when I hear all the excuses. :roflmao:

It's more food for thought than an opinion, but I don't think it's strange at all. It's like when we spend a lot of the game running, Love's passing sometimes gets stale. He has a hard enough time staying in rhythm as it is, without missing snaps.

We’re not speaking to “lots of time” though. I think your interpretation is I want to pull Love and that’s not my thought at all. I’m speaking to a designed pair of plays across 65 snaps

It’s funny everyone laughed when I spoke to a certain player who could punt return making the Roster. Now we’re literally fielding 2 players with the #34 and #35 worst punt return average yards in the nfl. Out of 35 possible entries. You can’t even try to do that and have it happen.
