[QUOTE="OldSchool101, post: 1072298, member: 10086"] Yeah. I just think sometimes we’re going in to a contest while living in a glass house. It just takes a drop and things get messy. Get it behind you. I’d be more concerned had we lost by 2-scores. Great Football Teams get beat in OT or a walk off type situations all the time. That’s why you gotta play to win for 60 minutes. That said, When I look at that last INT that Love threw, Wicks tangled with a Defender at about the 4+ yard mark and that contact appeared to take him like 2-3 yards deeper than the ball was thrown. In doing so he lost his inside position. That was an anticipated throw. Now Love will take the blame there and that’s admirable. QB’s (other than Aaron Rodgers) mostly take the blame. Love takes all the heat, but Wicks has to understand where the marker is and the angle to get to the marker as quickly as possible. I don’t need 7 yards I don’t need 17 yards and I don’t need 37 yards. I need 3.5 yards here. No play design against that team would’ve been a 7 yard throw and I’m near positive on that. That’s Love INT is the 1 scenario where a 1st down is Equivalent of several points and there’s really no reason to risk throwing a 7 yard mark, 11 yard or 14 yard throw. In that situation 3 yards has the exact same impact. Moving the Clock is equivalent of points and the shorter the route the higher the conversion rate. Conversely, The longer the play develops the greater chance for error and particularly for any HC that watched 4 Qtrs of Love being assaulted. You needed a bang bang quick 3.5 yards and not an inch more. I have no idea why Wicks is just getting his head around at 6+ looking for a 7+ play. Totally unnecessary.
