During the Favre-made mess, the Packers were willing to welcome him back within a month of his "retirement". And without the Favre-made mess he would have started at QB in 2008. Lack of concern about his age at that point translates into lack of concern three years earlier. We will never know what was in Thompson’s mind on draft day, 2008. But evidence of a <em>critical</em> need at QB would have been repeated attempts to trade up for Rodgers as the highly rated QB continued to get passed by. There were no reports of any attempt to trade up.</p></blockquote><p></p>
