You don't need to apologize for asking questions, but it might be a good idea for you to read slower and take in the answers -- I answered the initial question last night.

As for zone defenses -- it was you and your Pat's fan friend who were taking shots and making assumptions without information -- though I suppose you will somehow try to make that my fault too.

Also, follow your own advice.

I have been trying to be patient with you despite your mocking and sarcasm.

First, I never said I cannot afford to by it -- I can. I said I do not need to as I already have access.

Of course it includes zone defenses -- but only if the offense attacks a specific zone that a player is responsible for.

oh, of course it does! how silly of me. how dare I ask. Of course it does!

As far as anything else to what goes in to that stat, its very hush-hush, but OF COURSE it does include zone defense!

we get it, you have access to it. Forgive me for wanting to know how they get a stupid stat where Carroll is ahead of Harris. Curiosity doesn't equel ignorance, btw. Keep your personal jabs to yourself.

well considering we still dont know how the stat is acquired, yeah, I will.

All I know is that Stat inc(or whoever they are now) came up with it, and that it places Carroll better than Harris on it.

Great stat.

edit - sorry bruce, i just refuse to believe a stat like that, especially without knowing how it comes about. but all that means is that i'll ignore it, and thats my right, and yours is to believe whatever, etc etc god bless america, etc etc.

I think the Stats are showing that Carroll isn't AS BAD as people make him out to be, but by no means is Bruce trying to say that Carroll is better than Harris, rather he is saying Carroll can indeed hold his own.

Now Trom, I ask you to keep your problems with the stats to PM.

BACK ON TOPIC:

I like the talent of this group, but can someone explain to me how talented they think Jason Horton is? :-?

They think he is the next Deion Sanders left big toe ;)

With all honesty, I don't think Ahmad is AS bad as people portray him to be.
He was a first round pick therefore his expectations are HIGH.
He gets compared to Chris Gamble because he was taken before him.
Chris played football many more years than Ahmad did. Ahmad was a track star, Chris was a football star.
If Ahmad was taken in the third/fourth round we'd all be saying he's 'right on track' but since some genius GM jumped rounds to get him he is getting the short end of the stick.
Is Ahmad a saint? hell no. Do I think he's getting a unfair shake? At times, yes.

Ahmad has made some plays and he is getting picked on by refs. There were quite a few calls on him that were obscene even the coaching staff aknowledged if it had been someone else (who doesnt have a history of hands in the face/holding wr) it wouldn't have been flagged.

I think of it like this. Ahmad dug himself a hole with his holding an hands to the face. He's trying to dig himself out, one cup at a time. The pressure of being picked first overall is adding 3/4 cup back into the hole which is impeding his process as well as his immaturity.

Will Ahmad be a pro bowler? I think not. Will he be a decent football player that can help a team? Yes. I think as a return specialist and nickel/dime back he would be useful to a team. I don't consider him starter quality, atleast not from what I've seen.

Tromadz,

If you were an opponent of the Packers would you throw against Harris or Carroll? Who are they lining up against?

More plays against Carroll is a stat in itself.

Who is Woodson replacing? The better player? Some person in Packer management saw a need for the high priced services of Woodson.

Posting different perceptions of the same events is what this board is all about.

Carroll's best play took place after the Atlanta game and the "taunting the sideline" incident.

I appreciate Bruce's initial post and agree with his assessment. I am looking forward to the subsequent reviews of the other portions of our team. Please include Special Teams. I'd like to see a lot of picks our our young LB's making plays. It's seems Poppinga was always there (when not injured.)
