Former Green Bay Packers player Doug Lloyd (running back, practice squad, 1991), an assistant coach at N.E.W. Lutheran High School, has been awarded a grant of $9,000 from the NFL Youth Football Fund for the Blazer's football program.

Lloyd, a Beaver Dam, Wis., native and graduate of Beaver Dam High School, played fullback collegiately at North Dakota State where he was a member of two Bison NCAA Division II national championship teams (1986, '88). He then was selected in the sixth round of the 1989 draft by the L.A. Raiders when Ron Wolf was a member of the club's personnel department. He had stints on the practice squads of the Raiders (1989-91) and Houston Oilers (1990), as well as a few weeks on the active roster for the Raiders in 1991. He then was signed to the Packers' practice squad late in the 1991 season after Ron Wolf was named general manager, and subsequently was out of football after an injury during the 1992 training camp while with the Packers.
