Ok, just hear me out for a sec. Normally a player will hold a press conference if he's retiring, unless...(here's where it gets tricky)...UNLESS the player is holding it to say he is returning for one season, and one season alone. No more going through this yearly thing...this IS it!

I mean, wouldn't it kinda set a somber tone for the celebrity golf tournament bearing his name? Can ya tell I've been obssessing a bit about this maybe being zero hour?

What ever happens, happens.. If Favre comes back will we win a Super Bowl next year? I doubt it.. If he doesn't come back it'll probably get that worse. I don't think it's that we want him back because we're wearing homer glasses and think we're win the big one. I think it's because we don't want to see him walk out like he did. A 4-12 season. I rather see Favre go out on a 9-7 or heck an 8-8 season even. 4-12 is pretty pathetic.

Damn, just saw the news. Unfortunatly, I am away at a conference tomorrow, so I will find out his decision at night. I personally think he is going to confirm he is coming back, but only for one more season. Man exciting times right now!

It could go either way and he could be announcing thats its his last year. Then again why would he have to, I think we all know that it would be his last.

His statements to the media where he has to wrongfully defend himself changed my mind 100%. Then you follow it up with a Press Conferance 2 days later? Not Good.

If he does walk away I do not blame him a bit. I think he feels betrayed and would rather be with his family then have to listen to the fans blame him for a less-than-great season, because thats what would happen.

As soon as we start losing games, it would be Brett's fault because he took to long with his decision. People have already started that talk and the draft has not even rolled around. If you weigh that with the thing Brett really wants, a unlikely super bowl run, the decision is probably the one we do not want.

From what I have heard Brett is coming back, the reason why is because my own brother heard on the radio that there last Home game is December 21,2006, which it is but thats not the whole point. It is againist the Vikings this year, and it is on NATIONAL TELEVISOIN the nfl network. And you may ask well why? And it has been said that the reason it is, is not to watch aaron rodgers it is the packers last home game and brett will there inform everyone and say his goodbyes. This information my brother heard on the radio and later the same people came back on and tried to cover up what they had said because this wasnt suppose to leak out and it did.

FALSE ALARM????

According to GBPG:

The press conference, which will be held at The Cottonwoods Golf Course in Tunica, was previously scheduled. Favre holds a press conference every year at his tournament and usually takes the opportunity to thank the sponsors of his Favre Four-Ward charity golf event.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
So perhaps he will not announce his intentions then. This is all very confusing right now!

I hope I'm wrong, but I think Brett probably has a 7:40 tee time. What better way to retire than...."I'm retiring. I will spend the rest of my life cutting grass and...........(he addresses the ball)....FORE!!!!" right down the middle of the fairway!

Sucks!

Why would a family spokesperson say he was announcing his decision? Is this another case of the press blowing something out of proportion?

Looks to me that he is going to retire and play some golf.

Why would Brett retire at a Golf Tourney?

Brett retiring from the sport he was grown up in during a Golf Tourney?

Doesn't seem right to me. I think we're all over reacting on this.

Oh my bad, completly forgot about that. Hm, well I guess he might announce his intentions then. I would hope so, but I was intrigued that he does this every year and it had been planned in advance. Oh well, the family thing is some solid proof that this will indeed be what many Packer backers have been waiting for!

He should go ahead and retire already and stop this selfishness and let the Green Bay Packers get on to their new era....already..?

Right everybody?

MILWAUKEE (AP) — Brett Favre has scheduled a news conference for Saturday morning, and a family spokeswoman said he's expected to announce whether he'll return to play for the Green Bay Packers this season.
Becky Stuart, a personal assistant to the Favre family, said the news conference would be held at 8:30 a.m. ET at Favre's charity golf tournament at the Cottonwoods Golf Course at Grand Casino Resort in Tunica, Miss.

"You've got to get up early if you want the scoop," Stuart said.

Asked whether she knew which way Favre was leaning on whether to play or retire, Stuart said, "We've all got to find out at the same time."

This story reads differently than the earlier one and does indicate that an announcement will be made about Favre's future.

All of us finding out at the same time means we will all find out at the same time, not necessarily this weekend at a Golf Tourney. The 'scoop' is Brett thanking his supporters for the tourney an foundation.
