After going to UVa its gotta be bourbon.

In particular, on the cheap its Jim Beam Black.

For special occasions it's gotta be Knob Creek. I gotta visit Chicago more often, Sals sells a fifth for $24.

Give me a good sour mash/bourbon.

    Beam, Jack.......mmmmm.

    Otherwise, vodka with cranberry/OJ/lemonade, etc.

I do drink more Beam than Jack.

Good booze story.....went to visit some friends in Sparta, TN and took a tour of the Jack Daniels distillery. M Dad, being the handy guy he is/was, bought 4 old oak fermenting barrels for landscaping our patio/back yard. Rolled them into the old Airstream and noticed that they were sloshing with liquid. You see, after they were drained for bottling, the whiskey in the wood of the barrel leaches back out and settles in the barrel.

Got home, my Dad called his buddy Blair, who was a Culligan Man, and had him bring a charcoal filter over to the home. Ran the black, charcoal stained whiskey through the filter and, voila......about a dozen quarts of some of the best whiskey you ever tasted.

Aged 8 years before uncorked, and probably another 5 or 6 just sitting in the barrel pile.

    Gotta love free booze.

Canadian Lord Calvert (CLC) and Jack Daniel's are my favorites. If I'm getting a little crazy I can go for some aftershock.

Johnnie Walker. The older the better.

Smoother than Chivas, and Jack Daniels is terrible.

That, beer and caipirinha is all I drink. Vodka on my caipirinha, not cacha├ža.

I can enjoy bourbon. I always have some Wild Turkey or Woodford Reserve on hand.

But what I really enjoy is a top shelf "Side Car" made with Cognac and Gran Marnier.

Grey Goose vodka is another one from France I like.

What Can I say, the French can make some awesome spirits.

I am generally annoyed by the French.

    Weird huh?....
