I remember the same conversation a few years ago Concerning the Defense having a clear edge over the Offense early in the season. It tends to level out as the preseason progresses if I recall? I’m most happy that Montravious Adams is finally stepping into his role. As I’ve said in the past, it’s like the 2017 season stole our 3rd and 4th round draft picks to foot injuries. I don’t think their limited playing time last year is going to give us a proper evaluation of their future impact. But that limited experience does propel those 2 players ahead of the 2018 draft class through confidence in their environment from being involved in team activities and end of season practices and even some limited live action. I also expect both of these players to get some self retribution for that tough start. 2018 has a major underlying advantage for us. It’s the equivalent of adding 6 Defensive draft picks going into this preseason. 1st round: Jaire Alexander 2nd round: Josh Jackson 3rd round: Montravious Adams 3rd round: Oren Burks 4th round:Vince Biegel 7th round: James Looney 7th round: Kendall Donnerson That’s a significant amount of draft capital being injected into this defense and it should pay dividends in strengthening our depth on that side of the ball. While no one can 100% predict a rising star ahead of time. The sheer volume of D draft capital increases or chances of improving on that side of the ball. I’m truly (more than ususual)excited to see which players will rise to the occasion regular season when their number is called.
