My dream car has always been a 1969 Camaro. I do like the new ones but the 69 is one hot car.

    1st car - 1979 buick regal, 455ci of muscle

favorite car owned- 2001 Z/28 camaro- 346CI LS1 v8, 6 SPEED. Mods: Ported 6.0L heads, custom lunati cam, intake, throttle body, cold air induc., hardened pushrods, .650 lift springs, forged crank, federal mogul rings, 4.10 gears, full BMR suspension, brembo brakes, short throw shifter, and a 125 shot of NOS. It was a bad mofo indeed. The best run I made was 11.00 flat at 129mph in the 1/4 mile.....she had more, but I am not as good as some at rowing the gears.

Car I have now: 2013 hyundai elantra gls. 40+ mpg on the highway......

Fantasy car: 1968 Camaro RS/SS, black on black

First car was a 1980 Chevette. Favorite car was a 1969 Cutlass with a 350 big block engine. Did a project with my dad one summer where we rebuilt the engine.

Now I drive a 2006 Impala. Simple but it's paid for.

Dream car? 1971 Malibu SS baby. One that I could take from a junk heap and restore myself.

Nice look, can't go wrong with Radial TA's and Cragar SS rims on that era ride. I get kind of bummed these days when you see old rides with big, goofy looking rims and super low profile tires.

Agreed, I hate the oversize rims too. Obviously the "dream" 71 Bu would be the SS 454 with the 425hp. I like the convertibles but think I'd prefer the 2-dr coupe.

Sorry, but in 1971 the LS6 454 was no longer offered as chevy de-tuned all engines for 1971. The best you could get for the chevelle was the "turbo jet 400" and it was rated at only 300 hp.

I think that you are thinking of the 1970 chevelle SS LS6, 454ci and that was rated at 450hp and that was a conservative rating as some owners have seen old original models make 500+hp on a dyno-jet.

Either way, the 1970 was cooler, and had better engine option, but the 1971 was slightly redesigned and had that crappy looking malibu front grill and headlights put on.

Probably, it's been a long time since I've dug into the specs. The 454 in the 70 IS the one I was thinking of.

I like the taillights on the 71 better than the 70.
