Well, don't know what you guys think but two things come to my mind when I think about the Euro 2016 games I've watched so far. 1. Most of the games haven been quite boring to be honest. To me this has something to do with the fact that there seem to be a tactical trend that teams are playing a "safety first" style or are even completely parking the bus and the opponents are very often not able to create any chances for most of the game. (Gemany against Poland, England against Wales f.e.) I expect that this is getting better in the knockout stage but most of the games have been disappointing so far. 2. It's obvious that playing a tournament with 24 teams now instead of 16 before hasn't helped to increase the quality of the games. Teams like Albania or Romania for example do not belong to the top teams of Europe at the moment. They shouldn't have got a spot for Euro 2016. Needless to say that I don't mean it generally but it would be better to return to 16 teams to guarantee a certain quality. Regarding the German team - we're not playing our best football , thats obvious. I already mentioned that I'm not a big fan of a lineup with a false 9. Yes, I know, thats supposed to be "modern football" but it hasn't worked for us so far. Defensively it's getting better with Hummels being back and Boateng is simply world-class. Howedes usually plays CB at Schalke, he is completely overwhelmed playing left back. Offensively there is room to improve, Ozil almost invisible for two games now, Muller too. Whatever Gotze is doing on the pitch - it has nothing to do with football. However, we will make it at least to the semi-finals anyway but I'd like to see some good football too.
