The police have a much lower profile since those sad 80s events, but they are still very much in control and large scale hooliganism has all but been stopped. In Scotland no drunks allowed, no alcohol allowed either in the stadium this is because of the big pitch riot after the Rangers v Celtic 1980 cup final.
