No idea why as yet, but ive little or no sympathy for him. His reputation for simulation amongst other things goes before him.
World Cup 2010 - handles on the line to deny a Ghana a late winner. Uruguay go on on to reach semis on penalties
November 2011 - gets seven-game ban for biting PSV Eindhoven's Otman Bakkal while playing for Ajax
October 2011 - accused of racially abusing Manchester United's Patrice Evra and is eventually handed an eight-match ban
December 2011 - banned for one match for making an abusive hand gesture at Fulham fans
February 2012 - refuses to shake Evra's hand before Liverpool's 2-1 defeat at Old Trafford

One quick way to stop diving by players, ban them in retrospect with video evidence simple as that. And while we are at it why dont we ban Refs who make bad decisions also.
Before Chelsea v Manure started had a look at the teams, immediate thoughts Manure's game to lose. Fantastic game spoiled for me not by the result but by something else, i don't mind losing a game here and there but today's ref was useless. They are on a par with the NFL replacement ones, shocking decisions. Alex Ferguson on the winning goal ''I think he may have been offside'' :roflmao: Watching football for me now is becoming a waste of time. Rant over.

Ah, that's annoying.
What happened ?
I will try to find a video in the web to understand why you are that angry.

Just returned from Lambeau field, not a good game but a win, that's what counts.

Actually we wanted to fly to Boston tomorrow before flying back to Hamburg via London on Wednesday.
But because of hurricane Sandy we had to rebook the flights, hope it will be over soon.

I was fuming because we came back from 0-2 down to level at 2-2. CFC are on top at this moment Ivanovich then gets sent off (fairly in my opinion) and then Torres is also sent off their was contact with the other player he goes down and the ref gives him a second yellow for diving. A very harsh and wrong decision, and then finally they score the winner Hernandez was offside when he put the ball in the net. Fairplay to Manu i have no problem with them at all good luck to them, but afterwards it was all about the bad match officials instead of the great game. I may well be watching alot more German football in future if all this nonsense continues.

Stunning Pictures again nessie and a win all good! a dead deer in a pickup lol you cant beat a bit of venison.;) So cool also that you got a Lambeau Leap on camera.:) Huge scoreboard, nice to see they put all the fans investment to good use.

PackerFan71, it would be definitely a misbelief to think we do have better refs in German football ;)
Sometimes they are simply useless but on the other hand I must admit it's not easy for them these days with all the cameras and SuperSloMos.
At the moment I am watching Monday Night Football and thinking about how to catch a flight back to London and Hamburg.
Hurricane Sandy makes it impossible to fly from Chicago to Boston and from there back home to Europe.
Exciting vacation trip so far :D

Yeah your right of course, for the most part they are the same the world over, not such thing as perfect (just better) as far as the refs are concerned. Would be nice if we could have Collina clones and take them out of their boxes for gameday only, for all his faults (at least he made the right decisions.) Might be nice just to watch a few Bundesliga games for a bit, im a little bit burned out with all the Premiership sillyness.
Cards v 49ers? i think ill watch a little of it before i clock off.
Stay out of the way of Sandy, looks like its hitting the eastcoast pretty hard.

We got hit pretty hard. If you haven't made a connection yet, Lufthansa flies out of D.C. Or you could try a flight out of Baltimore on United. I used both in the past when Philly wasn't practical.

We finally got our flight from BOS to London, we are back in Germany since yesterday evening.
Made the right decision of rebooking our MDW-BOS flights with Southwest from Monday to Wednesday very early although it changed our travel plans.
Terrible pictures on TV and 88 people killed by Sandy - this is something we hopefully never will experience here in Germany or Europe.
Btw - annoying thing, lost/forgot my iPad on the plane or at the BA Boston lounge, I assume I will never see it again and somebody enjoys a free iPad.

Back to Bundesliga- are you ready for another Bayern Munich loss, Croak ? :sneaky:
To be honest I would be happy with a draw.;)
Bayern will be highly motivated after the loss against Leverkusen.

PackerFan71, did you watch the 5-4 against ManU ?
While waiting in BOS I saw a guy who streamed the game on his laptop.
I thought he would watch the recorded Sunday game before realizing that Chelsea plays ManU again :D
During the flight I chose to watch a documentary about 20 Years of Premiere League, very interesting.
I wasn't aware of the fact that it is now 20 years ago that they formed the EPL, pushed by 5 clubs who were called the "Big5". (ManU, Arsenal, Everton (!), Liverpool and Tottenham)
Would be another list of "Big 5" clubs today I guess ?! ;)

Take Mother Nature lightly at our peril, We had a Hurricane that hit from the North Atlantic where i live in 2005 and there was loss of life then also.

Anything to get ManU out of the way for a bit, i was listening to it online but was only half interested if im honest. It was a minor cup game Manure played with kids in defence, so it shows how seriously the took the game. Nice to get a little revenge all the same but its nothing more than that really.

Yeah it would have been 20 years ago now 92/93 season i think. On the whole its been bad for the fans far too expensive for most of us now not a working class game anymore, as it still is in Germany for example. A British politician has advised us that we should all now support teams in the lower leagues if we cant now get tickets for games, what a fool you cant change your club like that if your a real fan. The big five lol looks more like the little three instead.;) Chelsea were in the hands of Cuddly Ken Bates back then so we were nowhere to be seen at that point.

Soccer? Really? No offense, but if American football is brief periods of action interrupted by boredom, then soccer is long periods of boredom interrupted by riots. No offense.

Ah, gentlemen, I think we have an infidel amongst us.....BTW, American football is basically a thousand commercials interrupted by a little football.

I thought the streak might end with Leverkusen. They are playing well right now and their young goalie really made some great plays. Remind me again...what high school is Bayern playing this weekend??? :D

You hit the nail on the head, Croak :D
That's the reason why American Football is still quite unpopular in Europe.
Although I love football I hate all the commercials, it's tiring - one minute action, three minutes commercials

The Brit is correct--commercialism is ruining the game, but no more than everything else.

A hurricane in Scotland, wow ?
I can't remember a hurricane in Germany but we have strong storms as well, especially here in the northern part of Germany where we live close to the North Sea.
Sometimes a few people are killed, but nothing compared to Sandy or other nature disasters we know from the USA or other parts in the world.
I still remember cyclone Nargis and his destructions in Burma, unbelieveable.
I've been in Burma several times and supported a help project (orphanages) that I visited after the storm, months after Nargis a shocking experience.

Understandable, the League Cup is more a marketing thing, isn't it ?

Changing my club....this politican is not a football fan, obviously.
Freely adapted from Nick Hornby " You don't choose your club, your club chooses you" ;)
I must admit I never heard of Ken Bates, but found some information at wikipedia...

Yeah it was like a bomb and came in from the Atlantic never seen or heard anything like it before, lots of damage was a bad one lasted about 10 hours and was then gone last seen going towards Norway.
Thats really cool and a rewarding thing to do good job!
Ive never read Hornby's book (Arsenal fan) but hes right saying that.

As I understand it, in Germany the Bundesliga is still a working man's game. But as far as commercialism, you got that right on many counts here in the states. I was going to go see B.B. King in D.C. this month until I saw that a ticket costs $150.00! I'm an older guy and I'm not used to seeing that kind of price tag on a concert.

I'm not a fan but just as a comparison, The Strolling Bones have a show lined up in London's 0'2 Arena in November. (Brace yourself) $633.00 for the cheap seats, B.B King looks like a steal in relation.

What ? 633 US-Dollars  Ridiculous.
But 150 USD or roundabout 120 Euros seems pretty normal these days.
Some weeks ago me and my wife found old concerts tickets we collected.
Pink Floyd, Peter Gabriel and Genesis - all between 60 up to 100 Deutsch Mark, (35 - 50 Euros) - also very expensive those days ;)
Prices for tickets increased that much because concerts is where they still can make money, as we all know selling CD's or downloaded albums is not that profitable anymore.

But back to Bundesliga, ticket prices and the question if it this is still a working man's game.
I can give you an impression.
The price for my season ticket is 360 Euros (460 USD, 290 GBP), we have 2 of them.
The price for a single ticket in my seating area, depending on the opponent, reaches from 28 Euros to 55 Euros.
Highest (Seating) Category from 55 to 94 Euros.
Standing area from 14 to 19 Euros, but usally sold out with waiting list.
O.K., compared with England still affordable, but when you are a family with two kids, for example, it will cost you roundabout 150 Euros to go there. Still a lot of money for families.

Yeah i would say £90-100, $150 thats the going rate for most normal topline shows now. Its a fineline of course they should make money, but ripping of the punters will backfire on them eventually. £290 for a HSV season ticket is pretty good value nice one! The cheapest CFC offer in the Family Center is £595 - $954 Thats the reason i could only watch a game there as a one off occasion. And thats the Price we pay for having a Billionaire as an owner. Only Arsenal are more expensive in the Premiership.

I cant get enough of reading all this fluff and nonsense, just as well i don't buy any of these newspapers anymore.

You know what - if you and/or other people don't buy them any more I will lose my job one day ;)
And hey, Pep Guardiola - is there a better manager on the market ?
If there is a slight chance Chelsea should sign him immediately although I think he will choose his next job carefully.

Ross County is still doing well, how about your plans to attend a home game @ Victoria Park /Ross County Stadium ?

Don't worry about it for now i think your job is safe, plenty others buy them apart from me.;)
I'm not sure about Pep Guardiola ok he managed Barca but thats like playing on a computer in comparison to other teams. Who knows he might be as good as Mourinho.........or not.

County are doing very well, most of us fans are thinking that its all about survival this season so far so good. Its going to be a little while before i see a game, so here are a few pics to tide you over.

You are right PackerFan71, we do not know how he is doing outside of Barcelona with a possible new club but Barca played his very succesful system for more than 4 years, he has an idea how to play modern football and is able to impart (is this the right word?/introduce) this idea to his players.
That's at least promising, I definitely would give him a chance ;)

And great pictures, thanks
These small, tiny stadiums....that's football !
What is the meaning with the shoes everybody took off while celebrating the promotion.
I've never seen something like this before
Wait....Arabs do this and this is not a friendly gesture as we all know :D

Its sooo small and tiny, but a perfectly formed stadium. But that's part of the charm.:) Its looking really good now that the building work has been completed. I think the shoe thing is a positive and humorous one, (different meaning from the Arabs) its the fans showing the distance they and the club has traveled from the amature Highland league through the three divisions and finally to the SPL for the first time ever.
