[QUOTE="PWT36, post: 34856, member: 170"] Packer fight song was played by the Packer Band (disbanded years ago.)for many, many years for touchdowns, kick offs etc. I did hear a recorded shorted version of it played once during the Tenn- Packer Monday night football game last year.Apparently there is a copy of the song in the recorded music played at Packer games. There were many complaints about the type of music played by the Packer band through the years by younger Packer fans. The Packers disbanded the Packer Band & The Packers hired a advertising Company to pick out recorded music and plan the whole recorded music per formance along with the Advertising which appears on The Scoreboard. The man in charge of the Ad Company is an ex WBAY TV Sports anchor. By the way the Packers have to pay Lawrence Welk Music Company every time the song is played because the original music patient ran out years ago and was not renewaL The Lawrence Welk Music Company picked up the patient and now collects a fee everytime Go Packers go is played. I believe this also happened to "On Wisconsin" song also and Welk Company picks up a fee when that is played. Welk Company specialized in this sort of thing.--------PWT 36 long time (life time) Packer fan located in DePere, Wi, just five miles from historic Lambeau Field just doing my job as Historian of packerforum.
