Do we aim to finish 2nd in NFC North?

Bears have probably got a mortgage on the NFC North, so maybe we aim to get 2nd place, which I think is something to be proud of. Or is that worse because we won't get draft preference? What do you think we should be hoping for?

I guess Idont know where we will be placed in NFC but I'm predicting somthing like a 6-10, or 7-9 finish, maybe even 8-8. But I wont say 9-7 for playoffs.

We should be hoping for 11-5 and a playoff spot. That won't happen, obviously, but thats what we should be hoping for...

Frankly I'm happy with progress and I'm happy that we beat a team weve historically had trouble against in their home.

I know every team has heartbreaking losses , but I cant help think about those 3 heart breakers to N.O., St. Louis, and Buffalo. We win 2 of those 3 we gift wrapped and gave away and we are a serious playoff contender.

just win baby

You are who you are in this game. Just win as many as ya can to build momentum at least for next season if ya dont make the playoffs. Doesn't matter where ya draft in the first round...you can screw up it equally if not more so as bad with a very high pick rather than a middle round pick. I have faith in TT to draft well no matter our position.

One of the things that always drives me nuts is the contingent that surfaces this time of year that starts crying abut every win--"because we won't get such a good draft choice..." What a crock of sh_t. The team always goes out to win...if they aren't, the coaching staff needs to be replaced,as does any player who buys into that concept.

This is not a playoff-quality team--even if they could manage to weasel their way in--after the previous coaching staff got gutted because of consistent division championships leading to early playoff exits--I wouldn't think fans would want this team into the playoffs until they can manage more than one game.

I would say to win all you can and let the draft fall where it may.

At 4-5 now, we are only 1 game out of a wildcard spot.

Dallas, Philadelphia, Atlanta, and Carolina (if they win tonight) are 5-4 and all play each other later this year, meaning that they will lose some games.

We are tied with Minnesota, St. Louis, and San Francisco at 4-5 and currently win the tiebreaker with the Vikes but would lose it to St Louis.

BUT -- our upcoming games are winnable -- NE is on a 2 game losing streak, Seattle is up and down, then we have the Jets, 49ers, Lions, Vikes, and Bears (who have a 2 game lead on everyone for home field and probably would be resting their players.)

I could see ending the year on a 5 game winning streak -- if we do not play down to our opponents like we did in Buffalo.

OR even better, catch NE and Seattle while they are down and make it a 8 game winning streak and finish at 11-5.

Yeah I mean if you miss the playoffs of course it is disappointing...it is disappointing for 31 of 32 teams every year...and a consolation prize is a high draft pick...but you never aim to lose. Go play 60 minutes of football every game and do it to the best of your ability.

This team was predicted by the experts to be even worse than last year, especially with this new team...well 4-5...not great, but already matches last year's win total. Pack probably don't go to playoffs, but a 7-9 records isn't shameful with this team...and picking 12 or so in the draft isn't horrible either....and maybe the pack do win 6 of 7 and go 10-6 and get into the playoffs!

I agree about the draft order stuff being a crock. Drafts are largely a roll of the dice anyway (Ryan Leaf, et al) so who really cares in the long run? Put the best team together and make a run at it. Rebuilding is important, but part of rebuilding is finding momentum and learning how to win.

For every team that stinks it up and gets those oh-so-precious draft picks, they probably lose just as many veterans to free agency or trades because they want to play for a contender, not a "rebuilder." Play well now, and you get Packers fired up about next year.. and maybe even encourage some non-Packer playmakers to tell their agents, "get me to Green Bay." Who knows, right? :)
