Interesting you bring this up. We had a post here awhile back to see if anyone thought DD had a shot at the Hall. I think most of us agreed that he had a long shot, but it was possible. If he makes the Hall, he's elite, no more argument. Top 50 Receptions - DD has 469 currently. #50 has 590. He should be there in two years after this one. Top 50 Receiving Yards - DD has 6531 currently. #50 has 8719. He should be there in two years after this one. Top 50 Receiving TDs - DD has 38. #50 has 63. DD should be there in four years after this one. The thing is, once you get in the top 50, it's easy to climb. How many years will DD play after this season? Hard to say. He might decide to retire when Favre retires. Yes, DD is a long shot to make the Hall. But who playing today is a lock? Moss and Harrison. That's it. T.O. should go in. Torry Holt might go in. Chad Johnson won't go in. Steve Smith can if he stays healthy, but that's a big if. I'd love to see DD go on to have a long career. He's one of my favorite players. I think the last 3 seasons, he's been elite. This season, our O is different, and spreads the ball out more. DD is a workout demon. If he decides to play past Favre's retirement, I can honestly see him playing five years after this. The longer he plays, the better shot he has of making the Hall. DD relies more on route running than speed, so losing a step isn't going to hurt him as much as it would hurt other WRs. If I could compare DD to anyone, I'd probably compare him to Steve Largent, who is probably before a lot of your times. Those of you who are older would know who I'm talking about.
