Dante Culpepper says he had a good workout with the Detroit lions and wants to play for them,I hope so it would be that much easier to beat them.I was reading posts on ESPN and 19 out of 20 Lions fans were just bemoaning the fact that the Lions might actually sign him.

Sporting News staff reports

Free agent quarterback Daunte Culpepper visited the Detroit Lions today, after reportedly canceling a trip to Kansas City because he was in negotiations with a team he called a better fit, the Detroit Free Press reports.

Lions spokesman Bill Keenist confirmed Culpepper was in town Tuesday, a day that Detroit often evaluates free agents because it's the players' day off.

Sean Jensen of the St. Paul Pioneer Press writes he's "hearing that a deal is done."

But, Tom Kowalski of MLive.com reports Culpepper left the Lions practice facility without signing a contract.

Culpepper currently handles all of his negotiations because he does not have an agent.

The Lions are rather young at quarterback: Dan Orlovsky, a fifth-round pick in 2005, just had his first three NFL starts and Drew Stanton, a second-round pick last year, just started getting the first regular-season practice reps of his pro career.
