I have to say I disagree with most of you. Jason Whitlock is one of the better writers on espn.com. Just like any sports writer, he misses sometimes, but he's dead on a lot of the time. Read this article if you want a less biased opinion of his writing. Whitlock Article Also, how can you not see Favre's interest in playing somewhere else? from espn: "I'd like to wait till training camp," Favre said with a laugh. "But I know I have to make the decision in the next month for their sake." Favre said he's told Packers general manager Ted Thompson recently that if the team doesn't want to wait for him to commit to either playing the 2006 season or retiring, then he should be "cut loose." This sounds to me like he's posturing himself to worm out and join a team after the June 1st cuts. As for saying that he won't play for another team, he says he wouldn't play for another team to protect his image. If he can make it look like it was the best decision for the franchise to cut him, then he can go to another team with little damage to his rep. TT had the chance to keep Favre by hiring Bates or another competant coach and decided to hand the reigns over to the guy who ran the worst offense in the league last year. I wish Favre well in whatever he decides even if that means he wears another Uniform. How can we as fans honestly say that Brett owes it to us to retire a Packer? How selfish is that?
