Broncos | Team tried to sign Romo
Thu, 16 Aug 2007 15:24:29 -0700

Lee Rasizer, of the Rocky Mountain News, reports Denver Broncos head coach Mike Shanahan said the team tried to sign Dallas Cowboys QB Tony Romo as an undrafted free agent in 2003.

Shanahan said the team offered twice what the Cowboys offered, but Romo decided to sign with the Cowboys.

Maybe Romo thought he had a better shot at starting at Dallas than Denver. Especially since Quincy Carter and Chad Hutchinson were the guys in front of him, he probably thought he was a shoe in.

You also don't know what type of promises Jerry Jones made to him.

Yup that was it, he felt he had a better shot playing in Dalls, cuz Denver just signed Plummer to a HUGE contract..

but point is still there..Some times money cant "buy" a player..
