Aww.....poor baby!
I bet we will see him at Lambeau Field, with his nose pressed up against the glass............
I wonder if Denver feels like it was shafted by us?

Can anyone tell me who we got for their pick? Was it two years ago when we traded him? If it was it was Greg Jennings or Daryn Colledge probably.

Technically, we used the pick Denver gave us to trade down in the second round and gain additional picks.

I think after it was all said and done, we used the draft pick gotten for J-Walk to get 4 additional picks, picking a total of 5 players.

It was not Jennings.
The Walker (Denver) draft pick was traded for more lower round picks that were then traded for more picks that were even lower yet. GB ended up with 3 or 4 5-7 round picks off the Walker deal.

Are you counting Jennings as two guys?

Actually I was counting Jennings/Colledge as one guy (not sure which was drafted after we traded down with the Walker pick), and then I think there were 4 other players drafted from the additional picks obtained by trading down using the Walker pick.

there were other trades made that day but it looks like GB got #37 pick (2nd Round) from Denver.
That pick was traded to Atlanta for #47 Colledge and #148 (5th round) Martin.
So it is Walker for Colledge in the end.

np bro :) Thats from the old "Thanks Javon" thread that I had sooo much fun with.

Javon is still one of my favorite WR of the game so I'd like him back, but only with a Packer friendly contract. Not the $5.4 million he's scheduled to make or whatever that crazy amount is.

I'd say a base of 2 mil plus incentives. Regardless of his immature act that got him out of GB, I think the unfortunate event of Darrent Williams murder literally in his arms has forced him to grow up a lot.

Yeah, good times. Another reason to be thankful that PF.com doesn't practice the "art" of pruning. You can always go back an re-read the good stuff.

Is Javon Walker headed to Dallas?

February 29, 2008 5:55 PM

We've been telling you about the Cowboys' interest in Broncos receiver Javon Walker for a couple of weeks. Now that he's been released by the Broncos, Dallas is free to pursue the enigmatic receiver.

As Todd Archer points out on my old blog, Walker's former position coach in Green Bay, Ray Sherman, serves in that same capacity for the Cowboys. Sherman has a close relationship with Walker, and he was one of the people who consoled him when Broncos cornerback and Fort Worth native Darrent Williams died in his arms following a shooting in downtown Denver on Jan. 1, 2007.

Walker has had two strong seasons (2004 and 2006), but he missed almost the entire 2005 season and a large portion of 2007 with a knee injury. I've talked to a couple of people who said he's never been able to recover from Williams' death. Cowboys owner Jerry Jones is someone who believes that a change of scenery can have a tremendous impact on a player, as evidenced by Terrell Owens and Leonard Davis.

Don't underestimate Sherman's influence in Jones' decision-making. He gives him a lot of credit for T.O.'s success this past season.
