I'm curious to see how much the fine is in relation to Woodson's punch to the gut. I would say it should be a bit more.

On another note near the beginning of the game I heard a nice "F... You" from a player after a play. The NFL better use the audio and film to figure out who that was and sent a nice $10k fine his way like Hawk's.

IDK, this is the NFL, this is tough guys playing a tough game and some times they will filp off some one or cuss them out but that's football. We are already starting to turn this game into a sissy sport with all these rules protecting the quarterback from being touched. I mean that call against Clay was outrageous. Is this Professional football or should we put flags on these guys. You want family entertainment watch Disney. This is a violent, physical sport played in a civilized manner, but it is still violent and physical. That's what made football what it is today and if you take that away you might as well play cricket.

That guy should have been ejected and I hope he gets one hell of a fine. If there is one area of the male body that is considered sacred it is the Cojones, Jewles, Nads, *****,Sack. I think that instead of a fine, he should be subjected to what James Bond had to go thru in Casino Royale.

It looked pretty deliberate to me where he was aiming.
I think he was aiming for the family jewels.

Regardless, these guys have on helmets, pads and I'm guessing cup protectors for their packages.
I always find it funny/odd that they get into scuffles and lash out at the other guy trying to hurt him?
How the heck are they going to hurt the other one with all that protective gear on?

Not in the NFL. At slamdown by a lineman of the QB is the same as tapping his helmet. Why would hits/kicks be any different?

Yeah I was being sarcastic, He kicks at him with his cleats and says I'm sorry I hit you in your nuts, I'm not a dirty player, I wasn't aiming for them. Players don't wear cups. It's not very comfortable to make the moves they make with a hard cup on they have reinforcement but it ain't going to stop a direct kick.

You can also look at it as two players who got caught up in the emotions of a divisional rivalry game. The Vikings and Packers sit at opposite ends of the spectrum. You can't really blame them for getting spirited and emotional. However, as with all things, if you take it too far and violate the rules, you can expect the repercussions.

But there is a standard that players should follow especially at the professional level. Certain things not only violate the rules but reflect badly on you as a person and your organization. This was as classless an act as I've seen for a while.

If the NFL starting fining players for swearing, they'd all be broke.

He apologized for it, and the guys aren't butting heads and fighting over it, I don't see the point in a fine. They should let it go, like the players did. I thought it was wrong myself, but time to move on and not make a big deal over it, I am glad this at least didn't get blown out of proportion like Harbaugh and Schwartz did last week.

If I kick a guy in the nuts on the street then apologize for it, I still face consequences. Good that he apologized but he should and will get a fine.

You are absolutely right. I wasn't attempting to condone or defend the act in any way. I was merely stating the probable events that led up to it. There is no real excuse for that, it was pretty low and it does reflect badly on him and the organization. It was also not unprovoked as a previous poster pointed out. Again, hardly an excuse, I'm just saying these things happen during a course of a game.

I agree with this. I always say I don't mind the rules so much as long as they are consistent. Therefore, based on consistency, if Woodson didn't get thrown out, neither should Robison for committing a similar infraction. Rules need to be objective, so even if it's a Packer, they still apply.

Interesting that in the Ravens game they ejected a player for a punch to the face mask. While not condoning the kick, I don't think it was as hard as we think it was. But that does not excuse it. The players are ok with it, (we shall see in 3 weeks for sure) but the NFL has to put out a fine. I don't see a suspension because it is a first offense and he was not ejected.

They should put badges and equip each ref with a stun gun and also have them carry citation books.
That way they can just fine them right there on the spot!
And then they could go to like a small courtroom somewhere in the stadium.
Call it "The People's Football Court."

We have these things called reflexes and sometimes I believe they take over.
We are supposed to be or expected to be in control of our bodies and words like 24/7 but sometimes we say or do things that we cannot help.
This could have been a knee-jerk reaction (No pun intended) because Lang said/did something that provoked it.
Robison could have been wrong for kicking, but sometimes we are wrong when we don't intend to be.
If someone hit me, weather in jest or to cause harm I might hit him back just out of a self defending reflex. And it should be excusable even though society may not think so.
Just sayin, that sometimes there are situations we cannot help.
Was this one of them? I don't know. It could have been.
