Another thing about the Brewers this season, they aren't doing this with smoke and mirrors or luck. On Offense, they are getting on base a lot, being smart on the base paths and successfully playing a lot of small ball. They don't hit for a lot of power, nor are they even close to the leaders in triples and doubles. - Brewers lead the NL in OBP at .330, which is just slightly less than the Jays MLB best OBP at .334 - Brewers are tied (with Astros) for 2nd best Team batting average (.257) - 2nd in stolen bases (124) - 5th in runs scored (555) - 7th in hits - 11th in BB - 9th in fewest strikeouts Brewer Pitching/Defense Hasn't been off the charts, but it has been very solid and definitely above average. - Team WHIP of 1.24, which is 9th best in the majors. -4th in ER given up (401), as well as 4th in ERA (3.66) - 5th in lowest opponent batting average (.232) - 8th in Strike Outs - 12th in BB - 10th in HR's surrendered The Brewers fielding has improved as the season has progressed. Currently, they are 13th in the league in errors per game (.48). They were at .60 at the end of May. All in all, this is a very well balanced team, that doesn't rely on the long ball or just a handful of players to win. Nor are they relying on shutdown starting pitchers. I gotta say, I am really liking this team.
