I can't believe they choked. What a bunch of bums. :whistling: :sneaky::)

Yeah; season's over. Same old Brewers. Never going to do anything but let us down.

Yup....Someone game me tickets to all the World Series games this year, right after the game yesterday I put them up for sale and a Cubs fan bought them for $20K. :coffee:

Yes they just Win in regulation but everyone chokes in extra innings! :coffee:

Although it’s 7-0 Milwaukee in the Bottom of the 9th inning. 1 out
… Pray it doesn’t go extra innings!! :whistling:

PS. I’ll take your earlier statement about a 5-0 sweep of the 2nd place Cubs. Let’s move them back -13

Great start to a double-header and 5 game series! Brewers dominate Cubs 7-0. Cubs can only scratch out 2 hits and their highlight to the game was a hit(single), his 1st ever, by their rookie Owen Caissie.

Lots of Bronx cheers and booing from the Cub fans!!

The streak is at 1 game!

Wow. I didn't know you had to buy tickets for both games in a double header. And like 3 hours apart!

I think when they play a "daytime" double header, 1 ticket gets you in (your original or a new one).

However, teams make more money if they do a "Day-Night Double header, with the 3 hrs, in between. So for those, you need 2 tickets to attend both games.

Guessing the Cub fans that were in attendance for that 1st game beat down are either home (if they didn't have a 2nd game ticket) or trying their best to give away their 2nd ticket.

Thunderstorms are predicted to hit Chitcago by 8:30-9, with the 2nd game starting at 7, I hope the Brewers get an early lead, in case it is a shortened game.

As I posted that last post, I wondered something. Do parking lots around Wrigley make you pay twice for parking today?

If they do, do they give out refunds to those that have already parked, when a game is suddenly called off due to rain? Doubt it.

A costly victory - DL Hall is out for a minimum of several weeks with a strained oblique.

I guess I'd rather have it happen in mid-August than mid-September, but he's a key player, and he'd be very useful in some situations during the stretch run

That happened on Friday ;)

He'll be back in plenty of time for the final stretch.

Honestly, the Brewer bullpen has really been pitching well as of late. Hall has been pitching well, but they have the horses to pick up the slack.

Koenig has really turned it around. Seven straight appearances, 7 innings, 6 K's, without surrendering a hit.

Uribe and Megill are about the best set-up and closer that you can ask for.

Barring a complete collapse or a rash of injuries, this Brewer pitching staff, may go down as one of their best.

This Brewers team is really quite astounding.
...and I tell you, PB ... Weeds YOU...ARE...CALLING...DOWN...THE...WRATH...OF...THE...THING. You and your bubbly effervescence. :roflmao:

Get a grip man. All this "whistling and skipping" Pollyanna stuff is just setting yourself up for heartbreak when the division title has to be settled on the last day of the regular season.

I'm only looking out for ya man. :sneaky:

Never left the party. I was the drunk in the corner being an irritant. Like a bad laxative. :sneaky: ...can you believe they rained out? What a bunch of losers.
What a bunch of candy-*****.... do you think Reggie Jackson would ever have allowed a game to get rained out in the 1977 Series, or for that matter even the stretch run???

I tell you NO, damn it! When the game matters, truly great teams take care of business. They just don't even consider the idea of rain, damn it!! :devilish: :devilish: :devilish:

Think I'm gonna be a Cubs fan now, damn it....

Thinking ahead a bit, but a Brewers-Yankees WS would be the classic "David vs. Goliath" matchup. I think everyone but Yankee fans would be pulling for the Brewers. Given that the series could end on Nov. 1st....how cold is it in New York around the end of October?

How fitting though for the Crew to play well into October?

Mr. October? Bob Uecker!

Best slow curveball of the month....

Pat Murphy was asked yesterday what the difference between his team and the now underdog Cubs.

"They have all-stars, MVP candidates, veterans, gold glove winners, world champions. What don't they have? They're not the underdogs. Trust me."

Whoa!!! Nice response. Yelich (TFG) just punched one out.

Yesterday, The Brewers looked like every opponent that they beat during their 14 game winning streak. Too many mistakes and failure to get clutch hits.

I wasn't a fan of putting Patrick on the mound yesterday, especially first. Would have preferred going with Woody first and having Contreras behind home plate to catch him. That was the 1st time that Jansen caught for The Big Woo and I don't think he did a good job calling pitches. Maybe it will pay off if they have to team up again.

Finally, still not a fan of a double header. Too long of a day, especially for the visiting team. I get it, it was due to a rain out of a previous game, just don't like them.

Doubleheaders were made for the 50s and 60s when the family and kids could get two games for the price of one and mom could even pack a lunch to save money.

Agree and probably to try and draw more fans than 2 single games combined would draw.

Do they even open the season with double headers on the schedule anymore? I don't think so, but I could be wrong. I think they only occur after a previous game has been postponed due to weather or other factors.

This 5-game series is it for the season with the Cubbies right?

Cubs have gotten the better of the Brewers this season for sure. I really don't want to see the Cubs make the playoffs, for fear of having to win a series against them to advance.

Over the last 3 games, the Brewers have looked a lot like the teams they were beating during their 14 game streak. Making errors and more importantly, not getting hits in the clutch moments and with runners on the bases. I could be wrong, but I think they left the bases loaded at least twice last night and one of those time was in the top of the 9th, when that 14 win streak team would have found a way to get those runs across.

It will be nice to get back to Milwaukee after todays game. That said, this stretch of 18 straight days, playing 19 games, without an off-day is F'ing brutal. Someone out to take the schedule makers out back and give them a thorough beating.
