"I'm going to continue to get better," Cundiff said. "I still think that I'm a little ways off. I've got a lot of room to grow."

Which is it lol... a little ways off or a lot of room to grow?

at least you're not in the same position of the packers. you own a book of stinky kickers, and they do actually own a stinky kicker.

At least we'll have a kicker that can kick it deep on kickoffs. I think he was the best possible choice for kicker. Much more upside than Edinger. I wouldn't think they'd waste a draft pick on a kicker. Maybe bring in some rookie undrafted free agents to compete but Cundiff is a solid kicker.

Don't draft a kicker!!!

We're all still fuming over Sherman drafting a punter. Heck, Wolf wasted a 4th rounder on Conway only to end up lucking out with Longwell as an undrafted FA.

Punters and kickers are two positions that are best being left to develop over a couple of years. The best struggle in their first couple years and then are able to put it together. I don't know if Cundiff will fit into that category, but at least he has the potential. Add a few more FAs to the mix before TC and let them battle it out.

Ja, ja, ja !!! What do you expect from him:

"Ohhhh yes I know I am here to fill the hole left by a very good kicker who is, by the way, the highest scorer on Packers history, I know I am a mediocre, at best, kicker who is known for missing easy ones, anyway I can kick the ball to the end zone on kick returns that is my strongest point"

Well IMHO he is not the answer he is a bad kicker and we will learn the hard way that Extra Tightwad Teddy made a big mistake by not bringing a good kicker.

By the way Packers.com is not the best and most reliable source...In my opinion, just my 2 cents...

I would really like to know who Ted Thompson could of signed as a free agent kicker better than Cundiff. He tried hard for Vinateri only to get beat out by a dome. I don't know if he went after Vanderjagt but I don't know how well he'd of worked out with him sucking at kickoffs also and being used to kick in a dome and ultimately going to warm weather in dallas. Behind them Cundiff was the best choice. He has a 73% average, he is solid not amazing but best available.

Yeah, SuperRat...tell that to the fans who believe every starter and key backups should all have pro-bowl credentials.

Some of these folks have no concept of player availability, the cap, players CHOICE of teams, etc.

Don't you know, EVERY player in the league should want to toil for the Packers at half the wage they could find elsewhere...because we are the Packers!

Laughable!

Let's cross our fingers with Cundiff, that's all we can really do !!! But this is a Good start :

He nailed more than 44 percent of his field goals beyond 50 yards during his career !!!

Come'on guys, drafting a kicker in the 7th round or something is a little different then taking a punter with a third.

Yeah---I guess we do get solid kick-offs with Cun*-dif.

Something different and nice.
