Big Brothers Big Sisters help children to realize their potential and build their futures. They nurture children and strengthen communities. The one to one matches are the driving force behind making an impact on children. This match between a youngster and an older person is carefully administered and held to the strictest standards.

The agency staff tries to build matches that are perfect and safe and are well suited to each child’s needs. These relations are also harmonious and built to last. They also provide ongoing support and supervision to the Big, the Little and the Little’s family. To ensure that the match is working for everyone involved, they offer constant training and advice. The local agencies in turn receive ongoing training and consulting from Big Brothers Big Sisters National office. This web of support maximizes the likelihood of a Big Brother Big Sister relationship to thrive for long. The study has also found that the success rates of Big Brother Big Sister are greater and their matches last longer than any other organization studied by Public/Private Ventures.

The programs of Big Brother Big Sister focus less on specific problems after they occur and more on catering to youths’ most basic developmental needs. The Big and Small pair shared everyday activities like eating out, playing sports or attending sports events, watching movies, site seeing, and just hanging out together. The fact that they had a caring adult in their lives mattered most to the children.

The initial screening to the final pairing of these pairs and beyond is made possible by financial support. Mr. Ali Sharaf from Victron Energy feels that it is a privilege to be able to help them.
