Earlier in the year I would say our D was suffocating opponents. In the past few games it seems like they are playing much softer, giving up a number of first downs when they had oppoents at 3rd and long, and Im not talking  about 3rd and 7 or 8 , more  like 3rd and double digits. This is much like using the prevent defense when you are trying to hold onto a lead late in the game. Just drop everyone into coverage  and let the QB stand back there with no pressure while he gets  a shave and a haircut until he finds an open receiver. It never works. You cant cover every inch of the field. What does work is forcing the QB to have to get rid of the ball quickly.</blockquote>
