Had the Packers won that game, they would have entered Sunday knowing that a victory, coupled with a Dallas (13-2) loss to Washington, would make them the NFC's top seed at 14-2. </p><p></p><p><strong>"This week is obviously a totally different mentality than it would be had we won that (Bears) game. The stakes are different," Favre said. "But I still think, as I said after the game, that it's important for us to go into the playoffs with momentum or feeling good about where we are</strong>. I don't know how long I play, but you want to go in feeling good about what you're doing. It would be nice to play (well)." </p><p></p><p><strong>Packers coach Mike McCarthy must figure out how to get that momentum going while also making sure that his top priority — entering the playoffs as healthy as possible — is met. </strong> "You've got to try to balance out the things you are trying to accomplish. No. 1, you want to win the football game; No. 2, we want to play well based on the way we played last week," McCarthy said. "I think the most important factor for our football team going into the playoffs is I want our football team to be healthy. "... We're going to start the game and play to win just like we have every week, but at some point — and I don't know what point that will be — we'll probably try to take some players out." </p><p></p><p><strong>While Favre maintained Wednesday that the conditions were "the windiest I've ever played in," the Packers' response to those conditions were enough to call into question their ability to handle the elements — Favre included. "Everyone was cold. And I'm sure there were some guys on our team who thought, 'What did I get myself into?' " Favre admitted. "I think being a real young team, it probably was a little bit of a shock to them. ... But I thought we were ready to play. Guys were affected by the cold in pregame, but it didn't seem like we were any more out of it than any other time." </strong></p><p></p><p><strong>The forecast for Sunday calls for a few snow showers with a high of 32 and northwest winds of 12 mph. If the winds don't pick up, Favre said, he expects to play more to the form that has allowed him to go 41-5 at home in games in which the temperature at kickoff was 34 degrees or colder</strong>. "The wind to me means everything. Shotgun snaps were moving, punt snaps were moving. The ball, (where it was going) was a toss-up. I throw it here, it ends up (elsewhere) over here," Favre said. "The less times you can put the ball in the air — whether it be shotgun, punt, whatever — the better off you're going to be. But it is the way we play, and I hate to say it was a wake-up call. Asked on Wednesday if he sensed that some of his teammates lost concentration because of the weather, Favre said yes - a surprise, given the team's success all season and the potential playoff ramifications of Sunday's game.
