Locking in two starters at the guard positions has been a season-long conundrum, which needs a solution before second-seeded Green Bay plays its first game in the NFC playoffs two weeks later. Although Chad Clifton and Mark Tauscher have been weekly constants since opening day at the tackle spots, the Packers have been unsettled on the interior. They have used five different starting combinations. The latest switch came for the 35-7 loss at Chicago on Sunday. Jason Spitz, who had started the previous two games at left guard, was back at his natural position of right guard. Junius Coston, the starter at right guard the previous two outings, moved to left guard.
