I think they could have run with 51 seconds..but you know what they say about hindsight
I think that a big problem was that they didn't run enough most of the game. The run was working other than Lacy's fumble(s) - did he mean to flip the ball like that when he scored? They should have kept pounding the run behind a fullback - get Ripkowski in there too.

The offensive line play has been offensive. Teams only need to rush 4 against us to put pressure on Rogers immediately. We ran the ball well last night, but everybody can run against the Bears: The Bears front 7 is ranked dead last in the league against the run in most recent DVOA. Our middle of the road defense plays well enough against the bottom feeders in the league to win those games; but without an offense we're going nowhere. And to win a Championship improvements on both sides of the ball are critical.

Yes he has, you can look back at any game and you can see him rolling his eyes and pointing his fingers at the wr's about where "they should have been" at least 5-10 times a game. Thats not all the wr's, thats also AR and his high horse he is on.
Yeah, something is off with Aaron. I can't believe the number of short swing passes behind the line of scrimage that are un-catchable or take the receiver off of his feet.

Here's some amazing numbers on Adams (who, prior to last nights disaster, ranks 58th out of 61 receivers by DYAR; Cobb 54th):

Aaron Rodgers has a Davante Adams problem.

But Mccarthy will just stand there and say "we didn't make plays when we had the opportunity " no ****, because you as the coach are putting the guys who are half assing their jobs on the field. Fire someone to make a damn statement, cut someone, let them believe if they are not going to perform they will find the door. He has Janis who the very little opportunities he has gotten has made plays, Perillo has shown he can catch the ball, fight for yards, but RR is still the starter, Hyde sucks as a return guy and if not for injury I guarantee he would be out there. He was forced to use Demarious. Do any of you miss House or Tramon? I Feel very confident I would feel the same if Davante, RR, Hyde and I'm sure a few players were cut.

What I'm saying is give people an opportunity, after all they are pros too. This team was on their high horse, hopefully a few embarrassing games forces them to make changes.

There are no answers , gang. Not this season, not with this team. The wheels have all come off, being exposed is now at full exposure.
This is not a good football team. This team is at a crossroads this off season.

Duds: Too many to count. Especially the dropped passes. Cutler passing game made the Pack look like a JV team. And it was Aaron who had the interception.

Kinda glad I did not go to this game. I was able to watch all of the halftime festivities, and watch the Packers lose in the comfort and warmth of my home.

As some of us have mentioned: Look at the production of the offense with McCarthy as play caller, it’s very impressive. To think that was mostly because of Rodgers ad libbing is silly IMO. McCarthy is good at it.

As some of us have mentioned: Look at the production of the offense with McCarthy as play caller, it’s very impressive. To think that was mostly because of Rodgers ad libbing is silly IMO. McCarthy is good at it. But let's remember why he gave it up: Many here and apparently McCarthy thought if he were more involved with the entire team rather than focused on play calling in-game and out, the outcome of the NFCCG last year would have been different. And there was evidence early this season particularly that his increased attention on the D and STs has made a positive difference. (With the exception IMO of Masthay's punting - he really needs to be gone next year, and not because of one game. At his best he's an about an average NFL punter and of course he's seldom at his best. He's a consistent dud IMO.)

I think the receivers, particularly Adams were more at fault than Rodgers last night, but I still don't see the Rodgers of previous seasons on the field. I'm wondering if that has something to do with Tom Clements. The caveat here is none of us are inside 1265 and know the inner workings of the coaching staff. But if McCarthy is spending a lot more time in defensive and STs meetings, that leaves Clements more as the person players on offense have to answer to. Rodgers has said he gets along very well with Clements but I wonder if it's too well? Do players like Rodgers, Adams, and others ever experience the wrath of Tom Clements? If so, do they fear it? Fear of losing your job can be a great motivator. Does Adams fear losing his starting spot? He sure doesn’t play like he does. I’m just spit-balling here because like many of you, I can’t figure out why the offense has gotten so bad so quickly. Losing Nelson has something to do with it, but it’s obviously more than that, isn’t it?

Yes. No one who can "separate" consistently, suspect beat up o line, and absolutely hardly any production at TE . The staple of the offense has been the passing game and it sucks now.

I really don't know what is wrong with the Packers offense, a unit that returned 10 of the 11 starters from last season's squad which led the league in scoring. But one thing is certain, not making any chances now and hoping for it to get better won't work. I really want McCarthy, the offensive coaching staff and the players to take a hard look at the reasons for their struggles and not be afraid to make needed changes.

In addition there has to be something wrong with Rodgers. I can't remember any QB who has thrown for 24 TDs and only four interceptions in a season look as terrible as #12 has in 2015. If an injury is the reason for it MM should have benched him weeks ago as I'm quite sure Tolzien would have been able to win one out of five as well.

It's really hard to understand an Rodgers led team has lost two in a row at home afainst Detroit and Chicago with the defense giving up an average of 17.5 points in those games.

12 of those pass plays came on the final drive when passing was needed. Much more balanced before that drive began.

After Lacy's fumble, he got 7 carries the rest of the game. 7. Yeah, he made a mistake by fumbling, but it's pretty ridiculous that they took out the one element of their offense that was actually working yesterday and scapegoated one guy for a fumble when the entire offense has been sucking for a month.

Davante Adams has been targeted an astounding 36 times in 3 games, including 11 yesterday. No matter how poorly he performs, they continue to try to make him a focal point of the offense. Please don't say he's not executing, I get that he's not. It's Klements' job to see after weeks and weeks of him not executing that perhaps they should stop trying to feature him in this offense.

It's incomprehensible to me that you don't think the playcalling is a problem.

If they ran and it got stuffed, then the topic would all be talking about how bad of a play call it was.

If it got stuffed the Bears would take their sweet time getting off the ball carrier and any Packer blockers they happened to be laying on. By the time the ball is ready to be snapped they probably just knocked 15-20 seconds off the clock and forget about Rodgers surveying the defense and calling any adjustments in his protection, a running play is a bad idea right there.

This is the same offense as last year minus Jordy. Can only blame the loss of Jordy so long, something else isn't right.

Hmmm thats the thing, sometimes the absence of one player can negatively affect additional players. 1) Nelson is no longer there to stretch defenses and be a safety blanket for Rodgers all over the field. No Nelson means no one to bail out Aaron Rodgers when he's having an off game or makes an off target throw. 2) Cobb has been exposed as a slot specialist, don't expect him to get open in tight coverage or to consistently make the tough catches in coverage. He's a 5 million dollar per year talent with unique abilities that require talented surrounding personnel. 3) Adams is wilting under the pressure, he was a much better player as a number 3. IMHO he needs to migrate down the depth chart until he matures.

It's not that we're just missing 1 player, it's that we're missing a sensational player who's absence has also exposed his teammates.

So many duds, so little time! You're right that we have been completely exposed and we're at a crossroads, but I don't think there's ever a time when there are no answers as long as there is a competent coaching staff in place. There are other teams that started out badly this year but are still finding ways to at least improve. And there are teams that have lost big name players but have not regressed to anywhere near the level we have. Unfortunately, we trot out the same thing each week with the same result (I'm talking offense here). Every defense is playing us the same way, while we adhere to a never-changing plan. They seem to be determined to keep the emphasis on the passing game, despite receivers who can't get open and can't catch. Best QB or not, at some point I would think they would make the decision to do what's working best in each game, like last night running the ball. Lacy fumbles, so he gets benched and they back off on the run even though aside from the fumble, he was the most effective player on the field. Meanwhile, Adams keeps dropping balls, but they continue to target him. Why the double standard? Was that the plan and they were just sticking to it? I don't get it, but then again, there's probably a good reason (or two) that I'm not coaching in the NFL.

I'm also starting to wonder about the lack of mental preparedness for home games. Are the players assuming if the opponent has a losing record that the game is in the bag? I know that sounds crazy, but those are the games where they have looked the worst. Coming out flat, no fire and no energy from the outset. Just a deer in the headlights look and complete frustration when they find themselves struggling, few or no adjustments in the second half, and their backs to the wall at the end of the game relying on Rodgers and his ineffective receivers to make a play.

How does the loss of one player make such a huge difference in an offense? I have a hard time believing most of our remaining players lack talent and that there's nothing that can be done with them, because if this team really is as hopeless at it appears talent-wise, then it's way past the time for someone to be taking a very hard look TT and his part in all of this.

Despite my rant here (man, that felt good), I'm still going to hold on to the hope that we can get things clicking down the stretch... starting Thursday!

Back off on the Defense, they did play pretty well all things considered. This clunker along with Detroit is all on the Offense.

I bought into that for a game or two, but if a team can't adjust to losing one of its key players, then you hang that on TT for not giving them the tools for such a situation. Jordy is a very good receiver, but he is just one guy out of 11. An offense that can't function due to the loss of even its best WR, if that is the case, was a poorly built house of cards. Personally, I don't agree with his loss being the #1 part of the problem. Yes, its a contributing factor, but a good team adapts. The Packers have not.

Yeah but how do you evaluate Randall Cobb without Jordy? I didn't think he was worth his K, but perhaps the team wanted to believe that he was a legitimate star at the position. With Jordy on the field his production was always sensational. I also don't think they expected Adams to flop like this as a depth chart starter. So really our top 3 receivers have just plummeted in ability since Jordy's injury. In addition with Rodgers on the field we never can commit to the run. I wonder how last night goes if we took away 10 of Aaron's passes and gave 10 more carries to Lacy and Starks.

I can see what Ted saw when he drafted Davante Adams, not a lot of value inflating attributes beyond his size. His speed is average but his fluidity helps him get separation that even faster guys can't manage. He's also a natural pass catcher. Trouble is he hasn't developed like they hoped at this point.

It's not just the loss of the player and his individual abilities and production, it's the effect his loss has on everything else you want to do and the players who are asked to pick up the slack.

Are you going to pick and choose which 10 to take away. If you take away all the incompletions and drops then yeah I'm sure things would have been much better.

If there was just one player (Adams) that was playing poorly on offense, I would hop on the band wagon and say "this guy sucks, get him out of there!" But the reality of the situation is, most of the offense is playing poorly and/or making costly mistakes. Lacy....fumble. Rodgers.....bad throws and reads. Tretter.....rolls one along the ground costing a FG chance and the list rolls on each game. Like I have said in previous posts, the offense as a whole is playing out of sync and that is something that people want to blame on a player or two (Adams/Cobb). It's a snowball effect. When your teammates are making mistakes, you probably will too either out of frustration, lack of concentration or pressure to jump start your team. I'm sticking with blaming the coaching staff for the power outage on offense.
