I know I will be in the minority but when I watch Barnett he is usually being manhandled and pushed down the field. Most of his tackles are four to six yards down the field and when he makes just an average stop he celebrates so much you think he just won a Super Bowl. We need a leader in the Offence (whiich we have in Favre) and we need a leader at MLB which we don't have. So I think our biggest need for 2007 and beyond (although we need a lot of help in most positions) is MLB I think Barnett maybe better suited to outside linebacker anyway

Number 1 you spelled offence not offense, granted im not the best speller either.

Number 2 what is the problem with the man showing emotion in a game? I find that there is nothing wrong with that you have to show passion.

Number 3 you are way way way wrong on our biggest need it is not a MLB, tell me this who has lead the packers in tackles the last 3 years, who set the franchise record in 2005 with 194 tackles breaking a 24 year old mark which if I may add 194 tackles ranks 3rd most in nfl, who Became the first player to lead the Packers in tackles over any three consecutive seasons (dating to 1975), not to mention the first three years of his career that would be Nick Barnett.

Number 4 what makes you think that just because Barnett played outside linebacker in college makes you think he can do it now after he has spent 4 years in the middle?

Number 5 tell me what happened this year when Barnett missed the Seahawks game, thats right i forgot the Alexander only gained 201 rushing yards on us when the most the whole season was Steven Jackson with 98 yards and most others only making it to about 50 yards not to mention on 40 carries "The Butcher" only managed like half a tackle or something

Barnett certainly doesn't suck at MLB but he might not be as good as most Packer fans think. He does get juked out a lot and he overpursues the play all the time and counter plays always work well on the Pack because of that.

With that said he does make big plays. He is all over the field and his speed really helps our Defense. He's a great MLB but not on a Pro Bowl level yet. With that said he's still very young and is still progressing as well.

It's perfectly acceptable to spell it with a "c" in Canada fella.

I didnt know that. But seeing we are talking about Pro football which is played in the United States its called Offense.

I believe the official US spelling is "offence", the British one is "offense"...

commenting on spelling is not nice, for all we know a person not spelling everything right could have dyslexia.

Offense just looks more intelligent than Offence which is probably why Canadians allow the C :p

The fact that you posted that Zero makes me already have to much pity on you to say anything, except a for a web wedgie! LOL
I think Barnett is the least of our worries. He does over run some running plays but you do see that more with guys who have the speed he has. At least when he on and as he keeps improving he has the tools to become a top 10 guy in the leageu at that position

Gentlemen; I can well understand disagreements on this forum regarding Packer football; that why we're here. So why lower the level by pointing out another posters SPELLING? This, to me, is not only disrepectful but demeaning to your credibility. STAY ON THE TOPIC!!! We're not all college professors here. Personal attacks are one of the biggest reasons a forum goes downhill. Don't let that happen here, please.

This post is correct AND incorrect

I've said before that Barnett is certainly an above average MLB but I think he would make a better outside linebacker. I agree, he gets gobbled up easily by guards and centers, but still makes plays...if we put him on the outside i think our side-to-side playmaking capability on defense is that much better.

Of course if we actually had a legit D-line, Barnett wouldnt be as easily neutralized.

Barnett is very fleet of foot and the Packers have gotten lit up by opposing tight ends all thru the Sherman era up thru today, Barnett on a tight end would bode much better for us in coverage

We need Barnett at MLB. Look what happened in that Seattle game when we didnt have him. I think Mr. Alexander is still running as I type.

The Jets had 170 yards rushing on us last week and Barnett was in the lineup.

The problem wasn't missing Barnett and it wasn't solved by him being back in the lineup. The problem lies on the Defensive Line and our team overpursuing the play.

Dont forget that Nick had a club on his hand. And what does that say about our back up MLB? It shows that Barnett can do better in a game with a club on a hand then his backup can without any handycap.

Barnett is OK...when i think about his play I rarely ever see him read the play, shoot the gap (except during a blitz) and make a tackle for loss. But that is what he is, an OK MLB,... on the worst Defense in the NFL... Oh sorry Viking FAN...the Second worst LOL!!!

He doesn't plug the hole and that's his primary job as a middle linebacker. I don't know how many times I see that guy over run the play. And I hate that he can get his butt beat and then he finally makes a play and he gloats. He's an idiot.

Wow, biggest need? Stretching much? I would never imagine the biggest need was to replace a good player.

And name 5 leaders in the NFL at MLB. Since I can only think of 3, that must mean there are only 3 good defenses.
