I wouldn't be too excited about Portis being hurt. Torain is better than Portis, anyway.
Well, he couldn't have gotten terrible news.
After meeting with a specialist this morning in Indianapolis, Green Bay Packers linebacker Nick Barnett will not make an immediate decision on his future, a source said.
Instead, armed with much more information about the injury in his right wrist, Barnett will huddle with team doctor Pat McKenzie and decide the best course of action. There is no timetable yet for that meeting or a decision.
The initial diagnosis was that Barnett needed immediate surgery to repair his wrist so it wouldn't affect his long-term health. And Barnett was ready to heed that advice pending a second opinion.
On Thursday, Barnett began to have thoughts about possibly finishing the season and then having post-season surgery.
Where Barnett now stands in his thought process is not known.
Go look at roster then find out how many were free agents Ted signed, I got at least 5 I know off with out thinking
Trouble is, they are not free agents you wanted
2 are on the o-l one on d-l one in secondary and one lb
Tough loss. He's a great player. I'm not sure about the comments here about Vikings fans being jubilant because of injuries. I would rather have the Packers at full strength so the game is interesting. The other comments about how some hope the Vikings experience the injury bug seem a bit uninformed. We have lost Sidney Rice to injury, and Harvin perpetually is dealing with migraine headaches.
GREAT to know. Barnett coming back for the playoffs, it's a great thing.Just found this as a quote on footballsfuture packer forum....jsonline i guess posted it. this isnt agreen light but its much better than i expected.
I don't think PFT commenters can be classified as fans. Not saying you specifically, but go back and read some of those comments on the PFT link. Several Vikings fans were rather joyous at the news that another one of our guys might be lost for the year.
As for the injury bug biting you, you had one season where you had a couple of injuries. We're on season three. You didn't lose your starting running back (Grant), starting safety (Burnett), one of your defensive linemen (Harrell), your starting inside linebacker (Barnett) and now possible your starting right tackle (Tauscher) in 1/4 of the season. And we too still have guys on IR we're waiting to get back in Harris, Bigby and Starks.
So yeah, you had a couple of injuries last season, but it's nothing at all compared to what we've gone through and are currently experiencing. Time for the injury bug to leave us and go somewhere else.
