They weren't going to sign Willis and make him the starting QB or sign him to a $25M contract to be a security blanket 'just in case'    Love is the QB and was going to be the QB in 2026 regardless because Packers weren't taking on a $100M + dead cap hit.  For all of you that think we should just move on from Love that isn't happening until 2028 at the earliest.  Even if Willis has 2 straight MVP seasons and wins the Dolphins the next 2 Super Bowls it was not realistically on the table to move on from Love.And if the rest of the league was this sure of Willis being the next great QB of the league he would have made more than $22M a year in a QB driven league.   That is 'Ya.. we think there is something there, but not mortgaging the future' moveTaylor, like the vast majority of back up QBs,  isn't taking them to a Super Bowl if he has to play significant games.  Like any backup QB you hope that it is only 1 or 2 games and that you are 1-1.   Believe he can provide that for the Packers.</blockquote>
