Sorry dude - my point was pretty simple even if I didn't do the best job of making it. I remember Greenway starting slow. It wasn't all injury, he wasn't assignment sure. He's turned into a nice player. CMIII showed up at camp a monster as a rookie. He has football in his genes more than anyone I've ever heard of. He hasn't even scratched his potential yet. I have been a football fan over 30 years and I can say without the slightest hesitation that CMIII is the best Packer rookie defensive player I've ever seen. I am not cutting on Greenway at all. He's a good player. I'd like to have him on my team. But IMO Matthews is a guy that for years is going to keep offensive coordinators awake at night. Greenway is a role player, Matthews is a major impact player. If you think I am wrong about that, then I guess we'll just need to sit back and watch for a few years. I am typically pretty level-headed when it comes to evaluating players - I'm not a green and gold goggle wearing gomer who thinks every Packer is an All-Pro. The first time I saw Greg Jennings practice I said he's going to be a star. The first time I saw Aaron Rodgers practice year 3 I knew the game slowed down for him and he was going to be special. There aren't that many players I have strong opinions about early on but when I see it I just see it. Now, the Packers haven't had a slew of defensive rookie studs over the period of time I mentioned but it wasn't exactly a waste land either. There was Ezra Johnson, Mike Butler, Mike Hunt, Tim Lewis, LeRoy Butler, Bryce Paup, Wayne Simmons, Mike McKenzie and I am sure a few I am missing from off of the top of my head. IMO, CMIII has showed more than any of these guys as a rookie, and it really isn't even that close. The kid is truly special and we are lucky as hell that he lasted as long as he did in the draft and that Ted went and got him. One last time, I think Greenway is a good player - but I think CMIII could end up being one of the best ever. If it is any consolation to you, I think Greenway ended up being a hell of a lot better player than the guy that went way higher than him that year to us at #5...
