I've worked there quite a bit but never made it my home. I can say with full gusto that I'm happy not to be flying through Newark anymore!

I had fewer issues with Newark than most airports. All commercial air travel has always s*cked and it keeps getting worse. Barring a first class upgrade, I always preferred small airports with less walking, less general confusion and typically better service, and the puddle jumper planes that fly out of them where all of the seats are window or aisle.

That said, I once sat on the tarmac at Newark for 7 hours, through 2 meals and 3 movies, waiting to take off for O'Hare. At least they don't do that anymore.

I had two issues with the Newark airport:

    1) The Delta terminal that was under construction for all four years that I traveled there weekly. The escalator never ran the entire time I was there. It was generally a bad experience and a smaller terminal (Delta).

    2) If things were going good then everything was fine. However, it seem that if a butterfly broke wind the planes would stack up terribly. They may not hold you on the tarmac for 7 hours anymore but I've spent hours waiting in line to take off.

That said, there are some good sandwiches to be eaten in Jersey.

My oldest daughter and her husband live up a little north of Princeton. But I'm from PA. I thought Kitten was from over Jersey way.

Used to hang out in New Brunswick when I worked for AT&T. Great little college town with some good bars.

Philly, Jersey; they kind of blend together like Birmingham and Wales. ;)

Lovely little place, close and convenient to Manhattan yet away from the hustle.

I am also in Union County....about 10 minutes from Linden.

Looking forward to leaving from Newark Airport on September 19th to make my first pilgrimage to Lambeau Field!
