Long list of duds

Play calling
Red zone offense
Special teams
McManus
Run defense

Somehow we lost when Bryce Young’s final line was 11/20, 102 yards, 0 TDs, 1 INT, 48.3 rating

Easy to say in hindsight, but I thought LaFleur should have gone for 3 once we got backed up to 4th and 8. I would have taken the points given it was low-scoring game.

I normally try and do three apiece, but that might be tough...

Studs:
- Doubs and Watson both looked pretty good today. Combined for 9 rec on 14 targets and 150 yards.

- X remembering how to snag an INT again

- I'm stretching here... with the exception of two BAD throws (one INT and one should-have-been), Love looked sharp again. Week after week I find myself wondering why this team decided to pay him a billion dollars yet don't seem to want to trust him that much.

Duds:
- Hafley's defense seems to pretty much only work as front runners. When the offense is firing and we get a lead and they can play aggressive they are solid. If you ask them to protect a lead or hang on to a tie in two-minute drill type situations I have basically zero confidence in them getting the job done.

- Special teams continues to be an absolute liability. Our return game offers no positive benefit, we cannot seem to figure out what we want to do with our two kickers, and situationally it seems like we have no idea how we want to approach potential ST situations

- Week after week LaFleur's play calling leaves me scratching my head all game long. It often seems like he calls plays for the team that he WANTS to have (or THINKS he has), rather than calling for the team that the *actually* has. We are not a ground-and-pound run-to-establish-the-pass team with a bunch of road-graders on the OL. This should be a pass-first team and it seems like LaFleur is either unwilling or unable to acknowledge this. Overall I think Matt is a very, very, good coach but I think we have probably seen our ceiling under him. The bottom line is that I don't think we are ever think we are going to win a Super Bowl so long as he is our primary play caller. I hope to be proven wrong on that but I guess we'll see.

Imo Fleur lost the game with his playcalling. So many of those crap semi screens. I say semi because he never has a guard pull. And he called the game just the way the Panthers wanted. Using up the clock. That O line coach has got to go.

Matt reminds me of Tony dungy with Tampa bay.

I completely agree with this and it's ridiculous.

Yes I said defense, even though it was a low scoring game, there were stops the defense failed to make, they held it low scoring but there RB was able to make big runs when the Panthers needed Them, and the penalties didn’t help, if the Packers won 33-16 there probably would be any Duds, or maybe just 1.

Is season over? Lot of games left

All the Packer SB teams didn’t steam roll every opponent. Some games lost just like this
True, but what Super Bowl team lost as 13.5 favorites? I read somewhere (so credit to them for finding it) that the last time a team lost as such heavy favorites was 2023 Titans @ Miami.

Studs: Jacobs and Doubs both played well on offense. McKinney led the team in tackles, had an Interception in the end zone, and had the only sack, which was a strip sack... unfortunately the Panthers turned it into a positive play of 6 yds.

Duds: I'm going to place the majority of this on the coaching, and the run defense. Gave up 5 yds a carry, knowing that's what they were going to do.

The last time an NFL team favored by
13 or more points lost outright occurred in the 2020 season, when the 0-13 New York Jets, as 17-point underdogs, defeated the Los Angeles Rams.

This upset was a major shock, as the Rams had playoff aspirations, and the Jets looked historically bad.

Other notable recent instances of massive upsets (though not necessarily exactly 13 points) include:
  • In Week 3 of the 2018 season, the Buffalo Bills (with rookie QB Josh Allen) upset the Minnesota Vikings as 16.5-point underdogs.
    • In Week 17 of the 2019 season, the Miami Dolphins beat the New England Patriots as 17-point underdogs.
