Also, he has to be held responsible for the players that are kept on the defense. Our DB's sit back and try to react to the ball. If the front 7 isn't getting pressure then they are sitting ducks. We have a group of finesse style DB's and not physical DB's.This is the problem. The better 3-4 defenses today have physical DB's whom very often are forced to support against the run. I notice a lot of arm tackling and people tackling players high. I notice guys like Brad Jones who plays LB with a high pad level grabbing to tackle instead of hitting with his shoulder (being physical). Our Safeties do the same thing not being enforcers in the secondary and basically our DB's as a group being the same way.Woodson could play physical or off the ball and could read and jump a route in this scheme as well as support off the edge in tackling as well as bringing the blitz. I ask you who in the secondary has replaced him? Our DB's sit 10 yards off of the Receivers giving them free releases and then trying to react to the pass pattern. Great QB's have Hall of Fame days against us and ordinary QB's have All-Pro days because everything is predicated off of whether our pressure can get to the QB and if it doesn't which most of the time it doesn't then it's easy picking.I guess what I'm trying to say is things will not change until we get DB's that match the style of play of a Mathews or Daniels (Agressive) and we start getting physical with receivers off of the line of scrimmage not giving them free releases. This will throw off the QBs timing and if we get pressure then the receivers will not have a zone they can just run to an sit down. Again nothing is perfect but if you hold the guys up at the line of scrimmage then they may not be able to get into their pass routes as quickly thus forcing the QB's the look elsewhere such as check downs when the rush is on. There is a reason why slot receivers are so affective (they sit back off the ball), however GB has gotten eaten up by WR's on the outside repeatedly. Now we can't stop the run either lately but that is a whole other story which could and would be fixed by the secondary enforcing and support against the run. Just my thoughts!</blockquote>
