Where did you get your numbers? In just looking at the top 5, there are three offensive players and two defensive players.

Rodgers - $22mn/yr
CM3 - $13.2mn/yr
Tramon - $8.25mn/yr
Finley - $7mn/yr
Sitton - $6.75mn/yr
Also, let's not forget when the defense HAS stood up and played well. The Bengals game should have been won despite missing CM3 but our offense not only couldn't take advantage of 4 Bengals' turnovers but it was our OFFENSE which provided the winning points to the Bengals. So our defense hasn't been able to support an inept offense while missing our two best outside linebackers and one of our top 2 corners in the last two games. By my count that means our defense should have won us one game and has lost two games (though i would place quite a bit of blame on the offense in those games as well). You say that you expect the D to stand up once in a while. Well, they have. It's unfortunate that they haven't done so in the last two games but let's also remember that they've played against two of the best RBs in the NFL, been playing without CM3 for one game and in the other had a CM3 that hurt more than he helped. I would just like to know what a defensive coordinator should have done in the Eagles game that would have made CM3 a better tackler or had Williams actually making the two interceptions that he should have had (both of which resulted in TDs for the Eagles). Just consider that. Had Williams actually made both those picks, the Packers almost certainly win against the Eagles and we're talking about how the defense finally stood up and saved the Packers. I don't see how that's Capers fault.
