Last time he was here as the OC his son got drunk and died in a preventable accident that shook up the team so badly, for some it was the first funeral they went to, that they lost the playoff game a few days later.
Now he is back as the OC (Promoted today for intern HC) and this was our worst season in a loooong time with Rodgers playing.
Is it a JP curse or coincidence?

I dunno. I guess I'm just adding a new possibility to this terrible season.

We had players at the bars nights leading up to the game..

3 secondary players were hitting on someone's gf full of pot odor

Not a curse, just bad prep

This is football. Saying someone who lost a child by any means into a conversation and using it as a psuedo talking point is disgusting and honestly shameful.

Full stop.

No disrespect intended.
It's like it picked up right where it left off when Phil went to Miami.
Lose the playoff.
He goes away.
We get better.
He comes back.
Crank up the Hoover to full suck!

Or maybe he is just a really bad OC?

I know it opens up a can of worms to be bringing up this elephant in the room and this is not the bees knees of topics but at least it isn't beating a dead horse.

He was a good OC up until that point. Before that the offense seemed unstoppable. It did take a while before the offense to get going again after Phil left.

None of which needed a dead kid as a sticking point to a curse.

This is a sport grown men make millions playing.

That is a family tragedy that has zero place in a hot take argument, and you should feel dirty using it.

This crossed my mind as well. The game wasn't on here, but someone in the Shoutbox was talking about Rodgers grinning.
Afterwards I was thinking "That's why he was smiling, Murphy told him if they lost they would fire McCarthy".
And Rodgers convinced his buddy Mason to miss that field goal.
Lol, it's a conspiracy!

I really feel that his kid's death had a huge emotional impact on them going into that PO game where they lost it.
How else am I supposed to let my feelings on that be known without bringing up the causes that lead to those emotions?
Trust me.
I am really refraining from really letting lose my true feelings on this matter.
I am being as respectful as I can be with bringing up this theory.

The only problem with that ... is i’d say that miss will likely be a final nail in Crosby’s own coffin.

Some things don’t need to be brought up at all. And Frankly, unless Philbin is retained after this year... i don’t think he even warrants much discussion.

I'm curious to see what he does for the rest of the season. Does he coast along and run McCarthy's old system? Or does he take it upon himself to add a few new wrinkles?
If nothing else, we'll likely see some different play calling.

Really?
I'm the only one that sees this connection?

Well, the next four games may show if there is one or not.
So... Your take is that philbin is the issue. Ok, I'll entertain that.

No point of your argument was strengthened by the "his kid died and its just another reason that proves he's cursed our team".

It was a cheap low shot and was classless.

Getting the reins and to show he can coach I think he has Rodgers in his house now

Does that mean he has aspirations for the job? He has to know the odds are stacked against him.
If the offense comes out of its funk and starts lighting it up though...

I think most nfl coaches always want to prove themselves

Just guessing. He wants this to work either to be HC here or somewhere else.. So he will do what ever it takes. So he is listening to Rodgers.

Just a guess tho

If AR can come out and be his "prime self" again and throw 300+ yards and 5 touchdowns next week...

then we will know
