    OVERVIEW
With the departure of All-American Rashean Mathis two years ago, the Wildcats were looking for a big-play specialist for their secondary. Collins more than filled that order, as the versatile defender established himself as one of the best pass thieves in the NCAA Division I-AA ranks.

The Dixie County High School product was a Proposition 48 casualty in 2001 at Bethune-Cookman. He started two games at strong safety in 2002, recording 35 tackles (12 solos) with a sack, two stops for losses, an interception and five pass deflections. He also had eight kickoff returns for 181 yards (22.6 avg.) while playing in 13 games that year. Collins shifted to free safety in 2003, earning All-Mid Eastern Athletic Conference honors as he totaled 54 tackles (33 solos) with a fumble recovery, six interceptions and 12 pass breakups.

The Cross City native would again earn All-MEAC honors as a senior. He collected 55 tackles (34 solos) with a fumble recovery, 13 pass deflections and six interceptions for 108 yards in returns. In 34 games with the Wildcats, Collins registered 144 tacklers (79 solos), a 6-yard sack and 3

Sherman knows his contract will not be renewed after the year so he is purposely screwing things up--what the difference from the past is, i don't know...

Sherman doesn't choose the picks for us. Ted Thompson is now our GM. It may have been a bit confusing since it LOOKED like Sherman was choosing the players that we did.

It's amazing all the scouts we have on this forum. You all should contact NFL teams and get some cash for your much desired talent.

You guys sound like idiots. I know we don't need a WR especially in the 2nd round, so that may justifya complaint. But how are you going to knock Collins already? Have you seen him play? I refuse to believe that you watched even 30 seconds of a Bethane-Cook game this past season. I know nothing about him either, in fact I hadn't heard of him. But does that mean he's no good? To be honest, I hadn't heard of Barnett when we drafted him two years ago. He seems to have turned out to be a pretty darn good player. I'm just saying give these guys a chance to play before we start knocking them.

just what we didnt need, a guy who doesnt tackle well, a guy who plays soft coverage and tries to use his speed to make up for the cushion, and of course as mentaly challenged as our wide out fergie.

a great big 9 on the wonderlick

then lets pull a sherman special and draft him at least one round too early and maybe even three rounds too early. sporting news had him at 150 in the late 5th round.

he had trouble with tackles in the schedule he played, thats just not a good pick at all. just like last years pair of duds, that were both picked far too early and theer ws a reason why they were slotted where they were.

no we havent seen him play at all, but hundreds of nfl paid scouts did, and he wasnt going anywhere in the draft for a long time, and probably not until sunday.
