Fixed died of a heart attack at 52 after running. His family had a history of heart disease. At age 35 he was an overweight heavy smoker. He turned it around, however, genetics and past history can come to collect. And it did.

Thanks for the update milani. I forgot that Fixx died at 52. He was a good writer, an average runner, and appealed to the mass of weekend runners at a time when running was very popular.

There are always risks. We can do a lot to minimize those risks, and that's the best we can hope for.

That was fast (getting all the rookies signed). Then again, it was an unusually small number. Even so, these things are a distraction until they're done.

I never understood why signing rookies was hard, or could be. Their draft position pretty much determines their comp, inside a small range.

The biggest obstacle is the guaranteed money. 2nd Rd picks are starting to get that now, so once the first domino falls, then they usually go quickly.
