Here he trades Dix and gets a RD4 selection in the next draft several months later. So the immediate return for a declining player had to be tempting.Update: We now have hindsight that trading Clinton Dix was a good move. I just looked and he accepted $3Mil offer from Chicago, meaning he was either a RD7 Comp or values got cancelled out altogether. It also appears Dix found himself bouncing from team to team ((Chicago, Dallas, LA, Washington DC (technically Maryland)) across the country at lower pay. He had an offer to Coach for his Alma Matter there at Alabama and get back home. He did come back and sign a retirement contract with Green Bay a few years later and quietly walked away from the Pro circuit.</blockquote>
