Good stuff on Gary. Once Parsons was signed, I guess I expected Gary's game to elevate quite a bit. Offenses would devote more resources to Parsons and free Gary up more. I guess you might say we are seeing pretty much the same Gary that we saw last season, so nothing spectacular, but still right around average for a starting EDGE player in the NFL. Which makes me think that since his current salary is right around 13th highest in the league, there will have to be some conversations about Gary and his future in GB in the offseason. His $28M+ cap hit in 2026 and $31M+ in 2027 isn't ideal, given his playing level.

Might be a good offseason to approach Gary with a new contract offer, one that starts paying him an amount equal to his production on the field.
It seems as if Gary starts every year with decent sack totals, where you think this the year he gets 10+ sacks, and then he gets that lull late in the season, where he just can't get one. His production at Michigan in the sack total was less than expected, also. One thing he has been consistent at the past few years, is the run game, not to mention he was one of the best at his position, last year.

Now that the WR corps is relatively healthy, MLF needs to head down to the vault under the stadium and dust the cobwebs off some of MMs plays from the Fab-5 days.
Just woke up to an article saying Marshawn Lloyd reinjured his hamstring. Which is kind of unbelievable to me.... He is done for the year. Very similar potential as alex green from hawaii when they were blowing up records there back in the day ... And has the similar results. No NFL production.... I was so excited about him and green. Both are very disappointing...

He better come out looking like an all-pro next year or he is done in this league, I'm sure.

LVN is a DE primarily and used for the pass rush. I do know they were trying him at DT in the offseason to bolster depth there and get him more on the field. I wonder if they can utilize him there to help shore that up.
I think they will. Theyve been rolling parsons into the middle in last second shifts. It's been working well for him. I'm guessing LVN will have some sort of success doing the same.
Or Gary maybe? Just turn the front line into an angry bee hive. Moving guys around like that...

A persons best ability... is availability... Lloyd just doesn't have it since being drafted. Very disappointing, he and Jacobs could have been a very formidable 2 headed monster.

Gary was a DT in High School, he played at 289lbs, 12lbs heavier than he is now. He was the #1 recruit in the nation, when he committed to Michigan.

He was a wrestler too if I remember right. That leverage always helps in the middle when surprised by a run play.

To be honest I think he is toast. I do not believe he has the body to last in the NFL. Maybe he needs another whole year away from football with light non exertion workouts. But I do not think the Packers can afford to keep someone who has this issue. You look at the pounding Jacobs has taken over the last couple years and he has battled through it and is still standing. Lloyd would not survive 2 weeks before he would be on the injury list. A month and he could be on IR.

I'd never say never until he quits. Is he actually costing us something extravagant? I'd say it's worth the risk right now. Of course, I am not frustrated by it. I'll just wait until it's really done or not cost effective. I'm not expecting anything.

Lloyd is in 2nd year of rookie contract. '26 and '27 cap hits under $2M.

Packers have elevated RB Pierre Strong Jr. from the practice squad to the active roster for gameday.

RB Emanuel Wilson (illness) has been added to the injury report and is questionable for tomorrow's contest against the Denver Broncos.

You know he's going to play if he possibly can

Lloyd is due $2.8mil base salary total in '26/'27... I'd rather use that $ to keep Wilson around. Wilson & Brooks are RFA's in '26 behind Jacobs... and those 3 are a solid RB room. By the time Lloyd might help he'll be a 25 yr old "rookie" with virtually no NFL experience and out of game action for over 3 years.

As far as this year goes, Lloyd was never up as a RB. So 2 RBs are down.
Yea in my mind I was getting optimistic... It would've been perfect to let Jacob's rest that knee. And get a good look at what Lloyd had.... Wilson gives us that flexibility... Thought this denver game was a perfect coming out party. Pop off a few good runs and he'd be on his way.... But it sounds like he will be ending his season after this 21 days is up.

I forgot it supposed to be nice and warm in denver today ... Our WRs will be able to feel their fingers. Lol. Probably not a puzsywussyitis flare up for wilson. Must be actual sickness. :(

What’s really a blessing is we have Jacobs. That guy is Mr durability. Super unfortunate about Marshawn, I’m almost more concerned for his overall state of mental health as this must be devastating for him. I Really became increasingly concerned when I saw a “calf” injury. My guess is he’s done at minimum in 2025 and it’s time to focus on next man up.

Good news is that imo RB has often been a position that if we forage through 32 teams PS etc we can actually find some decent talent. It’s one of a few positions that’s equates to near immediate production. Sometimes even getting a player who’s highly motivated because they realize they may have 1 chance to shine.

Pierre Strong Jr has been one of the better candidates. Posted a 5.0 average across his first 3 seasons. Looked like a really good player to elevated and he has moderate experience also. Time to shine.

Please express how in their division they are not playoff contenders and even division contenders? Or do you just ignore that

Your willingness to move the goalposts is impressive. Contenders mean Super Bowl contenders. This is widely known throughout the NFL. The Steelers are not contenders and haven’t been one this season.

False, if you are in playoff hunt you are a contender. As a fan of a team that barely slipped in and won it their last SB time you’d think you’d know this.
