I'm not saying you are right... but would that be bad for us?

I don't think it's bad to be honest. I'm amazed at how they got this contract written. It's so Packer friendly that I'm stunned. When I initially heard the figures I thought it was a disaster. Now that the whole thing is laid out in front of us, I like it.

The three year structure is GOLD FOR GREEN BAY. I cannot believe how easy it is to part ways with him IF we want after three or could restructure/extend and be good too….stunned by the structure being so GB friendly

It does seem confusing. In the back of my mind I almost believe that Parsons decided that he wanted to stick it to Jones and may have mentioned that he was willing to work with the Packers on a deal, but not anyone else. If it was anyone else, he was going to sit out at least part of the season to inflict maximum pain on the Jones operation.

Whatever the reason, after I read the breakdown of the contract I was totally stunned at how well it works out for the Packers.

Afterthoughts on all the things I've read and heard during the course of the entire time that Parsons announced he wanted out of Dallas. The one constant in all the chatter and gossip was that the Packers kept popping up. I thought it was just talk. When the deal happened, and I read how it was a huge contract, the biggest in the NFL, I was concerned. It would cash strap the team for years.

Then, when you go into the details of the trade, you realize that high dollar figure is bling, not reality. It gives Parsons the ability to say he's the highest paid player in the NFL, and at the same time, make it super cap friendly for the Packers by giving them three-years of quality service at a great price. In fact, I'd guess far less than any other team including the Cowboys were offering.

That's what made me surmise what happened. It may not be 100% accurate, but I think it's closer to the truth than most of us would normally believe. If Parsons was vindictive, against Jones, and I can see where there was a total disconnect between them, he'd be willing to do anything to hurt Jones as much as possible. What better way than to go to a team that Jones has always considered his enemy when it comes to being "America's team."

No. You're right. For too long the front office and probably Le Fleur didn't emphasize the connectivity of having the same three guys working together as a well-oiled unit. They kept making changes that kept disrupting the flow of their work and then blamed it on the players. Now they've settled in realizing how important they are as a unit.

Agree. We see it across the NFL, a kicker gets injured, a new one is brought in and the issues start. The Packers went through too many seasons of switching out the P, K, LS or a combination of, and it was a problem. Good to see them get it right and invest what amounts to 1 average players salary into 3 important players, that will now be together for awhile.

The problem is with players who show great potential, coaches can't wait for it to develop when there are games to be won.

True snd I think it’s very possible that McNamath is a key component to winning several games this season. We started last year tough and he came in and really made a statement. Seems as though his high level Leg could actually Win us some games

Interesting... they sign him off of Cleveland's practice squad 2 weeks before we play the Browns...

I'm worried too. Sometimes they never come back or just keep getting hurt. Have to give him some time though.
