Yeah, DeJean was still on the board. I thought that was a bad decision at the time, and this team is still paying the price for it. Can you imagine how different the conversation about cornerback would be right now with DeJean? No Hobbes, which saves $18 million that we could have used on other needs, and one of the best CBs in the league teaming up with one of the best safeties in the league. And locked in on a rookie contract through 2027.And I think Morgan was selected ahead of Cooper DeJean two years ago. Probably another missed opportunity, just not on the scale of the TJ miss.
It benefits our entire defense. Just as good DL play makes the DBs' jobs easier, the pass rush is made better by good DB play, because the quarterback has to hold the ball longer. The whole defense is even better than it is now.
It may be a little early to call Morgan a bust, but I doubt he'll ever be an elite OL. That pick could have been much better spent.
