Gute continued his quest to draft elete athletes. Ryhan's RAS score as a guard is 9.35. Thus pick makes it nearly certain that Jenkins will play tackle when he comes back.u

Gute has done a very nice job this year. WR was costly but that’s the way it goes sometimes. Great value first 4 picks.

Great Run blocker who can turn guys and open big holes. Needs some refinement against speed rushers but has a strong lower anchor and is rarely gets power moved. He’s likely an immediate upgrade over Newmann at Guard but with a decent shot at finding his way to RT. Started 33 games at LT, so he serves as a viable backup option at either end once he gets more experience on the Right side

I'm pretty happy about the Rhyan pick. I was turned on to him while listening to a podcast about a month ago. Love his versatility, as we need a guy who can play guard or tackle if needed.

He is widely misreported as being 23 years old. He’s actually 21.

Andrew Thomas (Georgia, 2020)
Jedrick Wills (Alabama, 2020)

Rhyan:

6'4.5" 321#
5.25 forty
1.77 ten split

Sitton:

6'3.5" 319#

Both college left tackles who lacked the length to stick on the outside.

Rhyan's sub 33 inch arms quickly had me pegged as that athletic college tackle that will slide inside without a doubt in my mind. Always good to know in a pinch your guards have tackle experience and ability though which is my favorite way of drafting OL.

A few seasons back, due to injuries, didn't the Packers play a game with 4 guards and a center? I think Sitton shifted outside..

I wonder if he always used PEDs or just recently when he seemed to be a below average NFL lineman.

Wow, Gutekunst has really had terrible luck with his third round picks.

Suspended for 6 games for PEDs.
Another 3rd round bust most likely.
He's only played 1 snap all season. This is like getting a 15-yard personal foul penalty that is half the distance to the goal and player ejection. Meanwhile you are on your own 8-yard line (4 yard net) and there's 1:52 left in the 4th Qtr and you are losing 13-30
It's a relatively cheap way to find out that you might have a problem player on your hands.

Strike 1

He was the only third rounder in the draft not to log one snap offensively or defensively (only had one ST).

Imagine a world where he steps up and shows he is what the team hoped which was a starting level Guard? If that is the case I'd love to be able to have Runyan and Newman as swing depth guys and Tom is our RT or here's a hot take for you....Yosh is back and our starting lineup is Bakh / Jenkins / Tom / Rhyan / Yosh week 1.....

I don't expect Rhyan to develop into a decent starter at the NFL level anymore. He wasn't even able to get on the field while obviously using PEDs.

Would be nice, but I have to think at this point it's probably closer to "Let's hope Rhyan is able to contribute in any meaningful capacity whatsoever" than "Let's hope Rhyan becomes a starter"

I did for the records sake present the concept of that as "imagine a world" typically this means it isn't something expected.
