If you enjoy free agency a lot let's take a look at next year.

So far the significant contracts that Packers have to deal next off season:

1 a and b. Morency and Miree in the backfield
2 a and b. Collin Cole and Corey Williams on the defensive line.
3 Donald Lee at TE

The backfield will sort itself by this season's play. Both than be replaced.

One of the D linemen will get a good contract and one will likely be gone.

Donald Lee after a contract year may do better than this year.

The Packers will not have to spend a lot of money 2008.

They will have money to start extending some contracts early and save money. There are a number of contracts that expire in 2009 and 2010.

The Packers are not only on their way to long term cap health but one of the best cap positions in the league. 2010 may be a little rough but long term the Packers should be in great shape.

 Yeah! TE is a problem unless they have confidence in Zac Alcorn and the draft.

If you watched the combine this year, and you compare the TE's that tested vs. Zac Alcorn,...6'4" 245lbs. 4.7 flat 40. Good Hand's (caught everything thrown to him in camp last year) He would have been picked before most of the guys at the combine this year.

I hope he gets a true chance this year. ER And I am not just saying that because he is from my Alma Matter LOL!!!! GO B.H.S.U. :bang: YELLOW JACKETS!!!! :beersign:

:beersign: Yeah! Heard good things about Zac last year, can't recall whether he was hurt or they just didn't play the guy!

So Lare, do you expect more personnel losses next off season??

Do you expect the cap position to be worse next year?

Are you one who thinks the Packers should have outbid the vikings with millions for the likes of Bobby Wade and Visanthe Shiancoe.

Sure the young guys will never get better and it takes Daniel Snyder money to buy other teams cast-offs to win.

There is nothing in the draft unless the team trades away picks to move up in the first round and get a couple of quality players like Jamal Reynolds.

The impatience of the Sherman days is over.

Cap $$$ in hand and the increased flexibility to to apply it when other teams have wasted significant portions of their cap on has beens and cast offs is a win for the Packers.

There are hundreds of free agents and several months of free agency.
Hundreds of players want a limited number of jobs and the Packers are hiring.

Flexibility in a changing market and the ability to snap up very good opportunities when other teams have shot their cap ammo gives the Packers superior market position.

The Packers will spend their cap wisely and have until December to do it.

So, apparently, is the winning.

Sherman won superbowls?

but yeah I miss the 1 and done playoff appearances due to no depth, older players, and bad clutch coaching too.
